Chapter 4

There was a time when the Village was lacking in numbers, particularly at the top.
That time I was ready to step up and pick up the banner of a Drillmaster.

Thankfully, that dry time seems to be over and Erighan is seemingly capable
enough to carry out the tasks of a Commander. He also has a choice of capable Drillmasters.

I willingly ceded those positions as one does not need to put herself forward
in order to lead. In addition, my views are not necessarily the best for the Village
as a whole and might be too extreme for many. That's in addition of me being very
uncomfortable in a situation of interviewing a strong evil applicant.

Hopefully, the Village is never as weak as it was before, but should the time
come and there is no other logical choice, I will pick up the duties of a leader.
For now, it is needed. Let the Light make it so it stays that way.

Chapter 3

Many a time has Ayini been able to staunch the bleeding of her companions.
Many a time the giant has been bandaged. But still, waves upon waves of magi
and dark knights come to the Village gates. The battle pleases her, however.
Ayini has learnt the way of the dagger, a fine weapon if used carefully.
One has to flick it just so for the maximum effectiveness. Some find it
hard to control, but the challenge is what Ayini likes most of all.
It is rather unfortunate that her life is usually lonely, however.
Ayini has counted on more villagers to help and defend, but alas,
she fights strong even alone. Not that many have fallen by her hand,
but many will, given enough time. Her love of duty is strong and will remain so.

Chapter 2

Ayini has diligently studied the various weapons and the defenses
required for the dance of combat as her guildmaster was impressed with
her fairly quick progress. And evil mage wielding an iron nightmare blade
fell to her trusty flail, reaffirming the choice to fight on the side of the Village.
She was even trusted with choosing a warcry. Of course, she half-sings it in
True Tongue, "Beleg Ayini Nuquerna Lle" just sounds much better and with
more subtlety than the cruel Common Tongue "Mighty Ayini has defeated you already!"

Chapter 1

Ayinithalasa An'Uradi Gilleassioa is the second-born Daughter of the house of
Gilleassioa sworn to the house of Darsylon, serving at the pleasure of the King.
As the second-born, Ayini's training would be for a warrior-mage to protect
the kingdom and quell any border strife and maybe venture out to protect the
interests of the kingdom elsewhere as the king deemed fit.

However, it was discovered fairly early that the girl had no spark of Magic
in her, and it was decided fairly early to concentrate her training on just
being the warriror. Ayini has developed a deep love of the weapons and
the dance of combat, with the flows of daggers, the reach of the polearm
the accurate fleck of a whip becoming the most alluring activity.

One day she was present as the ceremonial guard for the King when
he was receiving the usual scout reports and was especially keenly
interested to learn of the unusual active forces of Darkness and Magic
in the vicinity of the Battle village, destroying it and all its
inhabitants just as soon as they manage to rebuild it.
Her deep love of the weaponry and compassion towards those who
devote their life to training and honing their weapon skills
led her to ask the Liege for a leave of absence to attend to the
matters of the village and help Defend its inhabitants.

She was granted her wish in exchange of not being allowed to use her
real last name or revealing her lineage and her duty to defend the Kingdom.
