Jalrandar Forst the Vengeful Devil of the Grand Design, Imperial Priest

Chapter 5

Marked by his Lord and maintaining his place amongst the Elite of the Empire,
Jalrandar has experienced some personal success. However, he sees the Empire
overall as having made no progress in establishing his lords design over the
realm, losing ground if anything. He feels frustrated that the Emperor has
been able to provide great detail on expectations of protocol and etiquette,
but no map to expanding the influence of the Empire other than laying claim
to more of the realm when the Empire is typically lacking the strength to
even defend the codex. However, he keeps his thoughts to himself, as
appropriate to his station and strives to do what he can to further the
Empire.

Although failing to this point, Jalrandar continues to try to aid the black
sect in hopes of a Dread Lord. He is curious if the council is ever filled,
if the full council will be satisfied with the current state of the Empire.
Jalrandar is encouraged by developments that may see more fluidity in who
sits in council seats, although he personally is prettysure he will die in
the elite position he currently fills, and is fine with this.

Chapter 4

Jalrandar continued to grow in faith and power, but was failing to turn his
efforts into Imperial might. Jalrandar recognizes that he is letting the
savage nature of his race come to the forefront much to often and leading him
into fights seeking vengeance that he cannot win. Assessing the current
situation, Jalrandar decides his efforts are best spent for now defending the
codex and continuing to try to fill the ranks verus imposing Imperial will.
If he can do the first two things, he realizes the other will come with time.

Additionally, with the blessing of his lord, Jalrandar is attempting to find
one to assume the position of Dread Lord. He is trying to step up
recruitment efforts in that area in he hopes of finding one worthy of
grooming to take the position. He has offered a reward to any who oath a
prospective black.

Finally, Jalrandar feels it is time for a new Emperor to arise.Qintaris'
reign has been unremarkable, and he will now be absent for some time.
Unfortunately, the high priest has not been around as much as he once was,
but Jalrandar hopes he will begin waking once again.

Chapter 3

Jalrandar secured the initial blessings of his lord and began his ascent to
find his place in the grand design. He found the halls of the palace often
empty, and it's leadership rarely seen.After many years and the eventual
appointment of a high priest, Jalrandar finally became a full priest of the
Empire and stepped his efforts to join the battles amongst the heroes of the
land.

Recognizing that the subjugation of those who refused their place in the
grand design required power and that power required an army, Jalrandar began
to think more of recruitment. This was further re-enforced when, upon
securing the further blessings of Lord Destuvius, Jalrandar was commissioned
to counsel others of the Empire on recruitment and to continue to bind more
to the Empire himself. Jalrandar fervently sought out all to speak to them
of their place in the design and to try to entice them to accept it with some
success.

Jalrandar finally rises to the pinnacle of his guild, able to fight the
realms most challenging foes. While he still finds himself with more foes
than allies, he is pleased to have handed a legendary fanatic of the light
their final defeat, and hopes this is a sign of things to come.He also
feels that his recruitment efforts are starting to show some initial results
amongst the lower echelons of the Empire.

Also, Jalrandar was instructed by his lord to contemplate what additional
tools he would receive to serve the Empire. After contemplation, Jalrandar
has decided he is familiar with the Frigid, but should learn more of the
Infernal. He has heard of the order present amongst the nine hells and the
absolute rule exacted by their arch-devil overlords. Jalrandar wishes to
embrace as many of the traits of these devils as he can through the hell's
pact.

Chapter 2

As Jalrandar ventured into the world, he was surprised at what he found. He
found the cities he had heard of, and hear rumors of armies, but he found a
world beset by chaos of more extremes than that he had encountered in the
realm of the frozen wastes.

This was not the world he had left his home for. Jalrandar began to realize
the world he was looking for, might be one he would have to create himself.
He spoke with those he met in the towns, and to the Imperial recruiters.
Some spoke of the teachings of the Destuvian orders which seems to match
ideas Jalrandar had himself. Jalrander studies as much of these teaching as
he could find, and vowed to seek out the Destuvian lord himself.

Jalrandar would continue to pursue this path and to turn himself into a tool
of Vengeance against the forces who would destroy that which he wanted to create.

Role

Chapter 1

Jalrandar could still hear the lashes hitting his skin, although he had quit
feeling them some time ago. This was his reward for being a visionary among
his race and recognizing that their way of life had change, whether any
wanted to accept that or not.

The frost giants had tried to keep themselves isolated from the world, hunting
and gathering as they had always done, but expansion of the realm had brought
more travel into the frozen wastes and more contact with the giants.
Jalrandar had heard tales of the outside world from other giants who had begun
to venture forth into Thera. While many described things they saw with hint
of disdain, or even fear, Jalrandar was fascinated by the accomplishments he
heard described or the worlds sprawling cities and massive armies. He
dreamed of a life that was more than hunting elk or fighting would be
explorers.

Jalrandar began trying to contact those who passed though the frozen waste,
seeking to sell them thing he could gather, or to serve as a guide for hire.
He tried to develop contacts and develop trade which would benefit himself
and begin to move the giants into the future.

His reward, when his efforts were discovered, was to be thrown in with the
slaves to be beaten until he saw reason and embraced the old ways. When an
attack was launched upon the giants village (ever increasing since the
passages had been opened) Jalrandar used the opportunity to escape.

If Jalrandar could not advance his race, he would advance himself. He
ventured into the world ready to find and embrace his place in it and to
partake and become part of the wonders he had heard of vowing to some day
take revenge on those who would hold him back.
