Morrel StoneBound the Dweller of the Wilds, Protector of the Underdark

Chapter 4

Morrel had accomplished much of what he had set out to do.
He had taken on the role of protecting the caves of the Underdark
and became known for it. He'd even earned the name StoneBound.
But this success masked a deeper incompetence that continued to rear
its ugly head from time to time. Notably, dragon slaying.
See Morrel had been talking with the guildmaster and
he had told him many stories of hunting dragons.

The stories told of magnificent adventure and great fame and reknown for the hunters.
He even said he could teach Morrel the tricks of dragon hunting.
Morrel, being one of the StoneBound was very vulnerable to such stories.
So he eagerly listened to the guildmasters lessons.
Thus armed, he ventured out and tried his hand at dragonslaying.

And he promptly got killed.
Chagrined, he figured he hadn't listened to the lessons close enough,
so he went out and tried again. And died again.
This time though, he managed to die before he even got to the dragon by something called a yet.
Though in all fairness to Morrel, it was a yeti and a frost barbarian swinging a huge club.
Morrel hated huge clubs. They hurt.
So he wandered back to the caves to contemplate where he should go next.

Role

Chapter 3

The (mis)adventures ot Morrel StoneBound continued with the usual chaos.
He managed to fall off a bridge into a crevice with no escape
and with no way out, got deliverance from a dragon.
He also managed to fall through the roof of a mine shaft into another pit.
And after killing off a number of hook horrors and displace beasts,
was set upon by an arcane who managed to barely best him.
There were miscellaneous mishaps with dragons, assassins, and the like.
But there were also a few successes, at least from his perspective.

Morrel managed to hunt a much larger orc and though the orc turned into a ghost
a short time later, he wasn't sure if it was from his hunt or not.
He also managed to best a paladin and even a well-dressed drow.
The drow caught him unawares while he was hunting duergar but still Morrel managed to drive him off
and eventually forced his death. He was very proud of himself,
which of course led to getting killed by the duergar king.

But of late he was noticing more damage to the fragile
cave ecosystems and so penned a warning to all the organized groups (and Outlander)
that the caves were now under his protection.
And so he began his diligence as a cave warden to chase all who weren't welcome away.

Chapter 2

Morrel StoneBound had the kind of insouciance only found in the completely
confident. This was in large part due to his inability to accept his own basic
incompetence and that he was easily distracted, hence untroubled about
what had already passed.

Morrel suffered the delusion that he was as large as a giant and brave
as a lion with the hunting skills of a legend. In truth, he was none of those
things but because he didnt realize it, he wasnt bothered by it. Indeed
he had the kind of self-deprecating humor that is only really possible
amongst the truly confident and care-free.

He also had a fondness for mushrooms.

Role

Chapter 1

Morrel was born into a clan called the StoneBound, a lineage renowned for undying
courage and early breeding. Well, perhaps more for the early breeding because
undying part didnt hold for many. Still, you couldnt argue with their courage even
if you could question their lack of survival sense.

Anyway, young Morrel wandered off from the caves of his clan to embark on his
great adventure with the intent of making his name a legend amongst the StoneBound.
As soon as he wandered out into the sunshine he became immediately distracted
and quite lost. He quickly managed to find himself mired in a swamp set upon by
snakes, eaten and then spit out.

Once he wiped off the snake spit, he wandered on to a magic tower and climbed
out on to the roof only to be eaten by a gargoyle shouting something about
Tiamat. Again, he picked up himself, dusted off his magnificence, and got back
to being lost.

This was clearly going to be some kind of pattern in his adventure.
