|
Sintaero Dujahlis the Shihan, Imperial Shadow
DescriptionBefore you is a tall, lean human man. His face is largely covered with a thick gray zukin-style hood however recessed within the shadows appears to be dark skin and a pair of midnight brown eyes gleaming out from underneath. You can see a hairy ebony chest covered with a beaten hemp colored kimono, thickly wrapped around some style of armaments underneath. In the middle of the man's chest appears to be a simple dull iron emblem, its meaning you do not appear to recognize. The armor on his legs are covered by a faded blue hakama, looking worn with age and quite comfortable and loose fitting. His scalp is shaven bald from what you can see of it, nicks and scars betraying the simplicity of the cutting instrument and the demeanor on his face seems unusually placid. All of this is covered by a thick wool cape tied around his neck and nearly dragging along the ground beneath him covering his belongings bulked behind him to his back from sight.

RoleChapter 7 Events Entry 1 Added Tue Sep 3 01:40:50 2013 at level 35:These events have transpired so far in Sintaero's life as an adventurer:
- Sintaero has killed a fair share of people. Few have stood out except Draleth (drow - Village app). Sintaero has learned a lot by fighting him and when Sintaero has good fights, he begins to admire the enemy. While Draleth probably cares nothing for Sintaero, Sintaero admires him much for his abilities.
- Sintaero has had long, in depth conversations with Daltheis and Gedunthos. Gedunthos in particular has impressed Sintaero, with his behaviors and his abilities. He also convinced Sintaeros to take the blood oath, which Sintaero has done. Sintaero does not actually care about the Empire one way or the other, but he will learn what he can from Gedunthos. Sintaero also doesn't care any longer for intrigue, he gave that up when he met Craylok, instead he cares a lot about combat.

He tries to be fair of word to those he fights and kills and avoids getting into bickering matches. He's made some "friends" this way but that's a poor use of the term. He's also made a number of enemies and is certainly reviled by some, though that doesn't have any kind of emotional impact on Sintaeros.

RoleChapter 6 Craylok of Udgaard Part 2 Added Tue Sep 3 00:46:23 2013 at level 35:Sintaero felt something burning within his heart. At first he thought it was shame at failing in his disguise, or at trusting the wrong person in gaining access to the property, or perhaps taking the wrong contract. But as he readied himself he realized it was not shame but rather, excitement and curiosity. He did not fear death but rather he had an interest in it. He wished to know what was felt the moment the breath of a man gave out, what it felt to have one's heart stilled to beat no longer. And the adrenaline that filled him was unlike that which he'd felt before, for he knew this was a fight where his subterfuge would not serve him, one where he could enjoy every blow exchanged.
The two battled fervently, Sintaero viciously slipping under the reach of Craylok to strike his knees, groin and ribs, while Craylok would rap Sintaero with the heavy oaken shaft of his weapon and eventually cast it aside to rally his martial abilities and use his superior size and strength to pummel the thin dark skinned man. When it was done Sintaero was thoroughly broken, laying on the ground with a rattling breath coming from his broken ribs. He was no match for the man, a man who had killed hundreds of other men, with monstrous strength and superior training.
'...Kill me...', whispered Sintaero, a cruel smile crossing his face as blood leaked into his eyes from a gash on his head.
'Why would I kill you, small man?' Craylok said simply. There was no exasperation in his voice, it was clear, calm, decisive. 'That was more beautiful to me than any painting, any portrait, any song or sunset I've ever had.'
'No,' Craylok continued, 'I own you now in whole. Perhaps you wish to die but you'll not have it. I have other plans.'

RoleChapter 5 Craylok of Udgaard Added Tue Sep 3 00:43:46 2013 at level 35:"You!", Craylok said, pointing at one of the meek servants huddled by the fountain of his estate."Gather a bucket of water and follow me."
Craylok was a monster of a man.Called 'the Giant' in whispered tones by those whom served him, though humbly human in origin, he stood taller than many horses with thick tree trunk arms and legs and a frighteningly sharp and polished glaive strapped to his back. He was officially granted the title 'Baron' in as much as that means in the lands under the rule of Udgaard Loke, reality was he was a Captain of Loke's army of jaette and as strong as any one of the troll-like creatures. The floors seemed to quiver under his stride and he exuded confidence befitting any king. His 'crown' was a head of straw colored blond hair, neatly kept shoulder length and his eyes were a deep green, the color of dried seaweed.
Sintaero suppressed a smile and gathered a bucket of water as told. Feigning his submissiveness he toted after the large man as ordered, following him through the garden towards the orchard which Craylok used as place of exercise. It had been four weeks since he was 'sold' to Craylok and this was the first time they would be alone. The excitement of the looming kill boiled his blood and stood his hair on end. His uniform didn't allow him to conceal many weapons, it was a very sparse and simple outfit even given the harshness of the northern Winter but he did manage to hide a simple wooden blade which he hoped he could utilize to subdue the larger man when he revealed an opportunity.
They walked through the large property and though Craylok was often fair to his slaves, perhaps out of respect or fear of his appearance alone those he passed yielded and cringed back from their path. Sintaero eyed the man trying to assess his movements, hoping to find some limp or habit that would give him information he could use later to end the battle quickly. Just as they passed the tree line to the grove of apple trees, Craylok abruptly turned on his heel and swung his ham fist directly at Sintaero's head - causing Sintaero to instinctively slip the punch and distance himself.
"As I thought! You are not what you'd have me believe!" Craylok exclaimed, drawing his glaive with a practiced swiftness and squaring off against Sintaero.

RoleChapter 4 Family Dujahlis Added Tue Sep 3 00:41:28 2013 at level 35:In the civilized world there are a great many problems that can at times have simple solutions. If these problems are people and the solution is ending their lives then like all needs there are those willing to provide such a service for the right price. Those of the Dujahlis clan are such people who provide those services if you have the connections to get in contact with them. Often is the time where direct military action is inadvisable or an enemy is protected. The shinobies of the Dujahlis clan have for many years have honed their craft of infiltration, subterfuge and assassination from their discreet camps far south of the Hamsah Mu'tazz, deep in the nomadic desert lands. To those who know nothing of their true purpose the encampments of the Dujahlis appear to be small temporary dwellings of nomadic shepherds living off the lands and bartering with passers by.
For perhaps hundreds of years they survived as such, isolated and brutal in their professional dealings with others. Their motivations unknown as the wealth itself seemed of little value to a people completely self sufficient and disconnected with the rest of the world, the clan perfected the art of hensojutsu or disguise and impersonation in the ancient tongue, pyrotechnics and sabotage, martial arts and weapon techniques. Their kind was hired to kill, destroy crops or set fires to structures and they relished in it. Sintaero Dujahlis, son of Kinan and Meshuto, was no different in his upbringing than many before him.
Meshuto was cousin and wife to Kinan, mother of five, three girls and two boys. The girls long having been married off before Sintaero could recall, Sintaero spent his youth accompanied by his older brother Taiso and young orphaned cousin Aedan. The three boys were trained in this brutal art since before they could walk.Routinely beaten by Kinan when not alone, Meshuto was a deceptively submissive woman when around any besides the boys. To the boys however she was their taskmaster, she trained them to fight each other, often beating each other unconscious with their fists to please her. Their knuckles were honed by punching trees until the knuckles verged on breaking. Their backs were strengthened by fetching water from days away and carrying it back to their encampment on their backs, not allowed to drink any until they returned. They learned hensojutsu with week long trips to the great city to the north of Hamsah Mu'tazz, where they would blend in with the merchants, the farmers and even the acolytes of the priesthood.Failure was rewarded with severe canings by a thoroughly blood stained bamboo short stick and serious failure or possibly for Meshuto's amusement caning of the genitals was not uncommon even before the boys reached the age of eight.
Kinan was rarely home though matters were no better when he was. He never spoke to the children, not even once in their entire lives.

|
RoleChapter 2 Introduction Added Tue Sep 3 00:37:42 2013 at level 35:The cold winds of the desert night bitterly struck Khalmut's eyes and crusted lips as he approached his encampment. Blackness had fallen upon the sands only light by the cool glow of the night's sky, filled with more stars than one would care to count. Thighs heavy from a day of walking through the sandy dunes dragged Khalmut past the guards towards his hut, a dry grunt of hello escaping his throat as he overtook them. Sand caked to his skin from his sweat and he immediately went to his tent within it finding a large clay pot filled with water anticipating his return. No children greeted him, no wife heralded his arrival, instead it was a sip of cool water that was all he looked for and he drank from the ladle with ardor.
He fell onto his chair, a pile of furs and leathers that sat before a cleared out space on the floor which served as his 'desk' and let the dusty air out from his lungs. His thick chest heaved a sigh and he looked down upon his scarred arms and hands and washed himself off allowing the cool water of the ladle to wash away the stinging sands. Retrieving what he had been sent to gather from his vest, wrapped in fine silks and smelling of strong perfumes, he placed it in front of him at his feet to admire it. Sleep came upon him quickly though he had not invited it and slumped over with his head stooped low was how we was found by his men when they arrived to greet him.
'Lord? Lord we wish not to disturb you but we've brought our new man here to grant you blessings upon your return. He walks in the name of Saraba,' said the first man a young dark skinned servant wearing simple clothes and sandals. He was accompanied by a child servant and a stark ebony-skinned monk wearing a simple brown robe, almost dragging in the dirt it hung so low over his simple grass strapped shoes. Deep brown eyes gazed down to the floor from under the hood of the monk's robes and the sleeves entirely swallowed his hands which were grasped together beneath the fabrics.
Hardly looking up, the warlord said simply, 'Come then priest and hear of the blood I have cast in my wake.' The monk stooped under the entrance to the tent and nodded silently at the servants signaling their departure.
'The Beast will now accept your sacrifices' was all the monk said, kneeling in front of the Khalmut.
Khalmut stood and walked to where he had sat his possessions from the journey and reached into a bag producing what appeared to be a human scalp that he had torn from the head of a man and started to speak...however the words were cut abruptly short. As he inhaled to speak the monk in one viscous action rose revealing his hands from beneath his sleeves and struck a hard strike to his floating rib knocking the breath out of him. A pointed wooden ring emphasizing the strike, the second strike was as fast as the first, to the mans temple with a solid thud. Momentarily stunned the monk deftly slid his

RoleChapter 1 Sintaero Overview Added Sun Aug 25 16:17:10 2013 at level 26:While setting up/writing the story for Sintaero, here's a few bullet points to explain who he is and his motivations.
- Last Name - Dujahlis
- Hometown - Sintaero originated in Hamsah Mu'tazz. He moved to Ugaard later in life. That will be explained in more detail in his story.
- Family life - This will be explained in further detail however Sintaero had a very violent and abusive upbringing. This is part of the reason for some of his odd personality traits.
- Psychological traits - Sintaero exhibits a number of psychological traits (whose acquisition will be further explained in the story form of his role). He has mild obsessive compulsive tendencies, is extremely methodical and organized in his actions. He gets "stuck" on certain topics for instance and somewhat repetitive in that regard.
- Aggressive personality - Sintaero inherently has sociopathic traits. Amongst these is an inability to experience love, indifference to kindness, indifference to friendship. He feels inherently superior to other mortals, almost god like and has difficulty empathizing with their emotions. He has a fundamental need to be dominant and to exercise that dominance with violence. In his mind he has naturally created defenses to this behavior and justifications, one of which is the belief that he is destined to be the avatar of Akresius. He also does not truly experience anger the way most people do and strives to enhance his calm as part of his martial techniques.
- Sphere Death - Sintaero is fascinated and obsessed with death, fate and finality. He is also fascinated by extension with spirits and the undead. This is more like a morbid curiosity than a driving motivation for his actions.
- Follower of Akresius - Sintaero enjoys and loves combat, sparring and killing. The adrenaline is something that penetrates the otherwise fake and emotionless existence he has. He will attack anyone, with no reason other than wanting to improve his own hunting and killing skills and enjoy the beauty of combat. In following Akresius he believes in not belittling his prey. He views them as beneath him regardless and he will try to not antagonize them merely because he believes this will cause him issues in maintaining the calm necessary to methodologically execute his assaults. To his adversaries he may come across as "sickly kind" when conversing, he however does not actually know kindness or humor and this is for the most part merely part of his religion and very fake.
- Lawful evil - All of these things combine to create a lawfully evil person. who has no regard for anyone other than themselves and their own desires and personal needs however someone who also has a lot of structure and method to the things they do.
