Chapter 3

Finley was doing well but thoughts troubled him lately. Thoughts that
had gained a foothold after speaking with one of his allies, Israh, a
priest of some demon-god named Naburus. Finley had never held religion in
high regard but as the eyars passed and his body grew aged, thoughts of
his ultimate fate oppressed him. Privy to a conversation between this
same priest and an agent of some cult known as the 'brotherhood of the
inferno' Finley began to formulate what his fate would be. He would do
as he had always done and negotiate his way to fortune! If he was to be
amongst the damned then his spot would be one of high authority and comfort.

Finley was well-versed from ages within the book and his lifetime of
magical study with the ways of demons and extra-planar powers. He would
collect enough souls to be able to bargain with. He would find the means
purchase the power he would need using these souls and maing the right deals
to assure himself a better place in Hell than the pits. Perhaps he himself
could become a demon? He had read about crossroads demons and he
was intrigued by the thought of basically continuing what he already
loved to do but for the highest stakes of all, the souls of the living!

Yes. He would figure this out and he would become a merchant of souls.

Chapter 2

Using his authority as a magistrate Finley soon bribed, bullied, and conned
his way into a small fortune and regained his reputation as a merchant.
First he bullied and bribed his way into owning a small brothel in Seantryn
Modan known as the Whitethirn Brothel and then opened up a small loan-sharking
business with the backing of the Kingpin of the Galadon Thieves guild, one
Corlyx Splix.

Never being one of small ambitions, Finley next set his sights on the
armor and weapons trade.

Chapter 1

Lost to some unknown disaster, the early chapters of Finley Beergut have
been mainly lost. However to catch up to his present adventures here is
a summary of his life so far. Finley Beergut was born into a small clan
known for their greed and ruthlesness in business matters. Finley himself
was a fairly well-off merchatnt and slave-trader with a taste for all
things magical. He believed that with magic he could obtain power without
exerting alot of effort. Above all things, Finley believed in working smart
not hard and exerted as little effort as possible to acjieve his ends.
In this case his ends were to obtain a magical book which was actually a
miniature pocket dimension used as a prison.

Through his extensive underworld connections, he was able to obtain the book
but instead of controlling the demon inside as he had hoped, Finley was trapped
while the beast was set free. He spent Ages inside the book, barely able
to influence outside events until one day a simple librarian named Gredly
found and read the book, allowing him to trick and trap the librarian in his stead.

Free from the book, Finley realized he would need to re-establish himself and
to that end he became a Magistrate and quickly moved up in the ranks having
absorbed a deep knowledge of the law whilst stuck in the book.
