Chapter 2

Years have passed and Duraskandr clawed his way through
the imperial ranks through guile, bribery, alliances
and the occasional blackmailing letters and the
subtle threats of a divine, placing blessings upon those
that supported his rise, and cursings on those that
did not. As the years passed, he slowly developed
an addiction to some of the more nubile young
girl slaves that he found on the market. Giving them
special status amongst his household, they serve
to knead away the the pains and trials of position and
authority, and he refers to often when relaxed.
One of them began calling him the "People's Pope",
a description of his more generous style towards the
common citizenry and his general amiable nature in
in person. She was of course rewarded with extra
duties and sadly discarded in the end, but he liked
the name and more started referring to him as that both
in his household and some without. His waking thoughts
are now consumed with how to be the next Emperor,
notwithstanding his extreme fondness of Emperor Kurbrawn.

Chapter 1

Duraskandr was born the first and only son and child of a rich
and powerful noble family of the Empire. His mother, a human
merchant daughter from Hamsah Mu'tazz had be wed to his father,
a dark-elf of modest renown amongst the imperial blades. Modest
due to an over confidence and charm which eventually led to
an unfortunate and unusual demise, but not before utilising
the substantial wealth brought to him by his trophy spouse
to profitable and significant fruit. His efforts were doubled
by his now fully fledged mogul widow, who loved her son
second only to what gold and prestige had to offer. But her
almost primal lust for glitter and slaves was matched only
by a desire to see her son on the imperial council, and no
effort was spent in education as well as martial skills.
Duraskandr has adopted the ambitions of his mother now with
his then inherited by now wholly self consumed ambition.


Born to privilege, he has no empathy for any below his station
and view all in three buckets. Those more powerful, to be
cultivated for his advancement. Those of equal stature, to be
manipulated for alliance and personal gain. Those of weaker
station by birth or other circumstance, to be used and
destroyed as necessary.

As a result of education, he speaks with a confident and
slightly patronising tone.

His pale skin is a testament of his mother's superior blood,
but also something more sinister. His mother has a fraction
of undead blood in her, suckled on as a child by a creature
of the night, a blood drinker. This is not known to him,
though he does hunger after meat and preferably of the rare
and bloody variety. The legacy of this is yet to be seen.

With regard to his attitude towards his god, he serves
Enlilth fully and without reservation, and has nothing but
disdain to any priest of any other faith. This he will keep
to himself, to all others he preaches Enlilth but is fair
and respectful of any of the other divine, but secretly he
plots to see their demise, preferably in a painful fashion
that reveals his hand at the very last.
