Chapter 10

The All-Consumer has guided me throughout my life. From being born
to the slavery of a powerful Aboleth, to him teaching me of the All-Consumer
and his value in our lives. From there learning the magics of water and
air. Which forced me to face fears of water and lightning and not only
deal with them but overcome them and embrace them. Through my
magics I have found a way to be immune to drowning completely
as well as not only resistant to lightning, but to embrace it as part of me
through the electric eel form.

The All-Consumer also led me to the Chasm, where I learned to consume
and eat powerful magic items for powers. And furthermore to the vulture
form, to consume and eat my enemies and learn their secrets. Last, the
All-Consumer led me to Lord Reksah, who through his work, brought a
path to the All-Consumer with a quest.

I was quested to slay a felar shapeshifter and gather its blood. Because
there once was a previous Scion who also sought secrets in that of slimes
and molds, the creature avatars of the All-Consumer. I did such after more
than 20 years of my life passing, as all felar shapeshifters who grew up died
before I could take their blood. So I hatched a plan inspired by the All-Consumer
to lay before those I seek to eat a treat, and see who comes to eat it. I was
able to do such and gain the blood I needed from a worthless felar shapeshifter
who took the bait.

And now, Lord Reksah has disappeared. Perhaps the All-Consumer sees that
he has satisfied his part in this game and is no longer needed. And so all paths
lead back to the All-Consumer. The Divine Lord of Sloth and Consumption, the
Eater of Worlds. His sloth is only embraced through the slow consumption of anything
and all that is put before him. He shows himself only as an ungulating and shapeless
form. So large the ends cannot be seen. It speaks in bubbles and spits, almost the
sound of lapping water, or dripping blood.

It is this one I seek to be an Avatar and pray to over the corpses of powerful creatures
and enemies slain. In the hopes one will entreat Him to find me. Perhaps then will
the final goal of my path become clear.

Chapter 9

My choice to pick myself and my own power over my Father aboleth
has proved to be a good one. I quickly became Advisor to the Chasm
after the previous one threw himself down the Well of Shadow after
she finished constructing it. It was her end and now it was my time
To advise the Chancellor Haphellna. I met with her briefly and we
continue to be on the same path and goals for the Chasm. But Haphellna
seemed... unstable. Even more so than myself, the chaotic avian.

Haphellna spoke of death, and the Cycle, and the crows much. And
even at one time, she stripped herself naked, giving her belongings
to me and went to commit suicide. But she did not this time, she
somehow found the crow in the darkest parts of her mind, and came
back, stronger than ever. It was an interesting thing to see. But
just like how water has the time to errode, as did time on Haphenllna's mind.

So just as quick as I became Advisor, I then took over Chancellorship
in part because of my devious nature, and it seems Reksah sees even
more within me is possible. My research goes well, and the
Chasm begins to grow to a suitable level so far. I have one last
thing to be done, a Tournament of Souls, which will bring into
the Chasm an anti-paladin. That one will be instrumental in my final
study. I am also attempting to find again the Archmage of which the
Former Advisor was working with. He approached me once, and I apparently
insulted him by saying I did not miss Zameida. Apparently he was
quite in love with that one. Hopefully he sees the darkness and
finds me again. But only time will tell.

Chapter 8

The bait was cast and the line was set. All we needed was
a fish to bite. And not long after the line was put into
the water did a felar shapeshifter take the bait. He quickly rose
through the ranks of the guild, sacrificing all real study and
thought, and presented himself quickly before me and the Chancellor of the time.
We gave him an option, to continue down this quick path to the
Chasm or attempt a more slow path with more study, a more traditional
way to the Chasm. He opted for the quicker path again. He did not
seem to understand in his own mind that there may be an issue
with the Chasm giving up power so easily to the first fur covered fool
that presents himself. That they may be a problem.

And so he presented himself. Myself and the Chancellor of the
time took him down to the Aboleth Lair. There we killed the Lore
Master there and began a line of dribble about how there is a
box within the gemstones on the table he worked at that only
a felar may open. But the felar must be able to sleep in the
water. But since all felar cannot sleep in the water if they
suffer from hydrophobia, he could not. So I simply killed him
and took his blood under the guise of helping him. He returned
quickly back to the place and recovered his belongings. He even
complimented me on my quick thinking about how a dead felar can
sleep in the water. So he took up his things, and went to sleep
like a little trusting babe. I then had the Chancellor leave, and
then I. I then closed the magically sealed door behind me and locked
it while he continued to sleep waiting for power. He could not
escape as the room he was in blocks even pass dooring. Even as a
ghost he was doomed to his prison. I yelled for him to continue to
sleep and left him.

The blood vial in my hands, I have accomplished what most thought was
impossible. Patience and deviousness brought about this
success. I now continue the study into how to incorporate the
nightwalker flesh into Nature's cycle. Hopefully this blood
will be the key to a previous Scion's research.

As for the felar? He waited for ages in the room until his body
was returned to him. Then he promptly drown again. He wondered
and wondered why power was not given to him. Continually purring
in my ear. Obviously he did not understand, and such did not
even deserve a place in the Chasm otherwise.

Chapter 7

The Dark speaks to me, and the Darkness is Lord Reksah. Through a meeting
I have admitted to him my past, and seek to make the future my own instead of being
a tool for my former "Father", the Aboleth. Therefore Lord Reksah offers assistance
in my research to combined that which should not be combined. I quest
to bind together into Nature the nightwalker and Shadow Plane denziens
and breed them into this plane. Through that process I should
be able to bring about an unstoppable way of the Shadow Plane making
a home here. Even if I fail in that, what I would create would cause
enough havoc that would buy the Chasm time to open enough portals to
fundementally do the same.

But back to the experiment. The creatures within this plane easiest
to combine with are slimes, molds, and puddings. Creatures who take on the
traits of what it consumes. Lord Reksah said there is a long dead
felar shapeshifter that once focused on this. And in its dead body
lies some secretes that would help me. What Lord Reksah needs is the blood
of another felar shapeshifter to make the connection to its knowledge.
So I quested out to gain it. First from Rekash, a felar shapeshiter of the Fortress. But
that one committed suicide shortly after turning evil himself. Then Fainfur,
a once applicant too weak to handle the process, who turned to the Empire.
That one was so weak it recently died permenantly through his body giving out.
He kept continually dying, just not to me. Thus I am left with no felar
shapeshifter to hunt at all. As none exist.

So I have taken many samples of blood from many powerful adventurers to
compensate for this. Most specifically, Oshui, the sleek black jaguar.
Hopefully all these samples can make the connection outside of what
is sought specifically by my new Lord.

Chapter 6

Preliminary Results to this Point

Research is a fickle thing. In my Prologue of my sought after research, I spoke
about Combining that which should not be Combined. Some may believe this
is a fool's journey, but I do not. Combining through magic, breeding, splicing,
and various other techniques, that which should never be Combined, begins
to show how the mindset of the individual may not understand the full scope
of this concept. I will take my first subject that I have done extensive research
upon as an example, myself.

I am an avian, born to the darkest depths of water. I lived within water for
all my early life. It has become my home. I am comfortable in it, I hardly ever
experience the hydrophobia that every other arial in Thera experiences. I
have through experience, exposure and magic, turned the greatest fear and
vulnerability of arials and eliminated it. I am an arial of water.

That research continued. Arials were "barred" from studying water as a
focus of any kind in the shapeshifter guild. Just as felar are barred from
both water and air. Yet again, I not only study it, but I study it as my major
focus. And now I am a master at it. This led to my next successful
research upon myself of Combining that which should not be Combined.

Through my studies I discovered within myself a create so anti to what
arials would accept as something they would shift into. I discovered a
creature within me that no only resists lightning, but creates lightning
within itself and discharges it within water. Arials see both of these as
the worst possible experience. Their feathers decimated by lightning
and torn asunder by drowning. I have controlled that and combined
within myself a creature that creates lightning and is immune to drowning
completely. What was thought impossible is possible, I have shown it.

Chapter 5

I am an avian of a strange history. Born into slavery within the
Aboleth lairs, I learned that what should be feared and what is
within us naturally is not what has to be. I do not fear water
or living with in, it is what the Aboleth taught me, and for that
I am grateful.

The Aboleth banked too much on my own fear of water to keep me
contained, so escape was not difficult. And strangely enough I
do not hold it against those wonderful creatures my beginnings
of life. I learned as they learned, and that is what I begin
to pass on to you as well as the Chasm. It is from this conditioning
that my studies are born.

And so I study myself and others of this, which combine what
should not be combined. For I feel that is the answer to true
thriving in the planar travel the Chasm does, and what I seek
to do. What comes is most likely inevitable, how we weather it
and if we thrive, well that is up to us and my studies to do that.

I have three precepts:
Meld with magic what is opposite in Nature.

Meld in magic what should not be combined.

Meld in the mindset what is thought should never become one.

My studies already yield interesting results. I am one of those
results. It is said avians should never be able to study water focus
just like felar. But somehow I achieved that. It is not by accident.

Chapter 4

A strange thing has transpired. Lord Reksah took an interest
in me. Brought me to a place of interregation and review.
There Lord Reksah spoke to me of my research, what I seek to do and
the possibility of assisting in the research itself. That assistance although
comes at a price. Being under the exposed eye of Reksah
means I have brought enough attention upon myself that my Father's
plan for me will be exposed. My Father seeks to have me learn
of the Chasm and return that vast knowledge back to him to consume
and serve his purposes. But if I accept Lord Reksah's assistance
this will obviously be exposed. But then again, I sense that Lord
Reksah already knows, and is looking to see which way I choose
to go. With the Chasm and on my own and forsake my Father, or
walk with my Father, take what I have learned and most
likely be cast out of the Chasm as a traitor.

Perhaps it is time I choose my own path. While I am thankful
to my Father for my development in this lifetime, that does
not mean I am his servant. This time within the Chasm has
lessened his control on my mind enough to see that there
is something more than what my Father offers.

That means the All-Consumer will have to be impressed on my own abilities and
not upon my relation to his favored worshipper. I will gain my own respect and
yes, have my own goals. I think I may have decided, but I
will think upon it more.

Chapter 3

The Father's desires and bindings to the lords of Sloth and slime has
had an influence upon Buereunus. She seeks the same, to be a creature
shifter of the Sloth Lord. Unknown is the true form or name of the lord
of Sloth. It is only worship of the All Consumer. She believes all within
the lands will be consumed and returned to the All Consumer. And therefore
she holds all molds, slimes, and other creatures of that sort in high
regard.

Chapter 2

The three eggs stolen were then hatched by Zuulolex and enslaved
from the get go. The watery hell was horrible for the arials, as they
naturally reject such an environment. Zuulolex took great pride in
his raid of Arial City. And the raid itself showed power to the other
aboleth that he was not to be trifled with, and he was not. The birds
each were taken for a specific reason. And each were raised not
knowing of the other. And all were under complete control by Zuulolex
although all three did not know they were. All of them beloved Zuulolex
as their elder and teacher of wisdom. They did not know better, and
they did not want to know better.

Zuulolex loved the irony of avians born of water.... Delicious!

Yioyu, a black and ash feathered avian, was taken because he was
found to make an excellent assassin. Zuulolex would raise this one
to find its way into the Empire as a Shadow, and learn all they have
to learn and report back.

Geezilou, a bright white feathered avian, was destined for the Fortress
of Light. There he would become a spy for Zuulolex within the mist
of those vile Maran and Squires. There in the Fortress Geezilou would
be a shining example. He would exist there until discovered and killed
but during that time Zuulolex would learn much.

The last was Buereunus, a purple and black feathered avian. This one
was meant to be more long term. To gather ancient secrets from the
surface. Specifically from the Scions of Eternal Night. Zuulolex wants
to know more of what they are up to, so this one is being sent out as
a shapeshifter, to gain their favor and be a sleeper within their Chasm.
She is not meant to be discovered, but to learn throughout her life and
periodically come back to her Father, Zuulolex to report what she
learned.

Buereunus thus surfaces with her Father's guidance. Not knowing her
background of royal blood. She only seeks to find the Chasm and learn
of its ways and in the back of her mind, Zuulolex will siphon the knowledge
she gains whenever she returns to the water to "roost". And so Zuulolex
sends her to Udgaard to learn shapeshifting. The guild there only saw
that an avian of some skill in magic is enrolled and all costs are paid.
So the avian begins her path and teachings there.

Chapter 1

Aboleths are creatures of ancient times, and their age is only rivaled
by their incidious nature. They believe every being is inferior to them
and so periodically they surface to prove it.

This was one such raid by an extremely ancient aboleth, named for
his ability to control as well as his slime covered body. The slime he
excretes allows him to survive on the surface of the water much longer
than his brethren. Some say it is because he is the chosen of an ancient
powerful demon god of Sloth. One that takes the shape of slime as
its avatar.

Zuulolex was his name.

Because of his affinity and abilities, with excretions and slime,
he did not have the limitations most aboleth do when it comes to
surviving on the surface.
do in getting around within the foul air breathing world. So he took
a raiding party of himself and his thralls to Arial City of all places to
prove to the birds that live there, none are safe.

Bursting upon Arial City, the thralls paved the way for slug like
master. As the battles roared, Dark Arial Guards swarmed the the
thralls and a massive engagement ensued. Zuulolex did little
battling. He would control a few avian guards to fight against their
own with his mind, but he was out for enslavement of his own.
He was slinking toward the Empress and Emperor egg hatch.

Two Palace guards challenged him as he approached, but with
a flick of his tentacle, and a mental psionic blast, their beaks
collapsed within their skulls, killing them. Free to do his work, he
hovered his tentacles over the eggs to pick the ones he wanted.
He picked only those that were destined to be strong and great,
leaving the weak ones to take the leadership in Arial City. He quickly
wrapped his slime about them, three eggs total, and teleported
back to his dark waters. He left his thralls to die at the hands
of the Arial City guards. They served his purpose.
