Chapter 6

- Good and Evil. Odrallag is less and less concerned with good and evil as
time has gone on. After his first talk with Iunna and his early adventures
with duergar and orcs it just doesn't seem to matter so much, and as life
progressed it very much so took a back seat.

- An attempted redemption to the light is, at this point, basically lost, but
I'd never rule anything out.

- After speaking with Gharindul, and considering the "blood magic" nature of
the current questiness. It is a secondary goal of his to find a new way for
minotaur to be created. Probably will write more on this in the future, if
things play out in this direction.

- After freeing Iunna, and the quest epicness, Odrallag is beginning to get
the feeling that there always needs to be something big happening. He should
develop a bit more of a sense of adventure, unreachable goals, etc.

- Odrallag looks to the Rites with both hope, and a bit of hesitation. Part
of him wants to lead the village, and knows he could be good at it, but
other parts of him thinks it would just be better to let others lead. Real
conflicted, so we'll see how things play out with the Rites.

- Concerning Garwern. Odrallag and Garwern have become friends and brothers
in arms. He would fight him just as well as fight alongside him, however.
Things do pick ever so slightly at Odrallag's resolve when it comes to the
priest, such as when he had the stoneform amulet. Not 100 percent sure how
to handle those types of situatoins yet. I suppose things could get
interesting, moving forward.

Chapter 5

His dream was vivid, a dream of fire, war, and victory. Through it all,
Odrallag felt pride and glory fill his soul. But at the back of his mind,
like a nagging memory was a darkness, of the dark deeds he had done. Of the
Light that once filled him. Battles came and went before him, and he grew
stronger. But the darkness was always there. In the final battle, just
before he woke however, he felt a passion fill him, a passion for fire and
war, a passion to find answers, a passion for life, that left all death
behind. He awoke, and knew his destiny.

- Odrallag was part of a society of priests who worshipped Lord Gareth before
he disappeared. As it was, they were lost to the gods, but remained in the
light. In a twisted experiment, they captured a necromancer and used her to
help breed an army of minotaur. In this way, local women would not need to
keep disappearing in order to grow their Just Army.

- Witnessing the dark ritual, he lost control and murdered his father, his
brothers and even his own mother. He truly was of the Light before this
deed, and the High Priest truly did cast him out. It very well may be in his
future to seek redemption.

- Learning what he did from the hunter, and the dream given to him by the
flames, he will seek the Village and the favor of Iunna.

- He is soldierly and will follow direction well. He will find both comfort
and mistrust around priests, generally mistrusting those of the light more
than the others, and of course will have a particular hatred for
necromancers.

- He speaks relatively well, as he and his brothers were of an "officer"
caste amongst the Just Army.

- His beard is a point of pride, as the hunter he lived with was a dwarf.
Because of this, Odrallag is also fond of ale, and has also been known to
curse and yell like a dwarf from time to time.

Chapter 4

The first to die was the swaddled child, the second, the chained black beast.
old woman, the two guards, and six or seven acolytes followed. By then,
his own brothers had begun to fill the grove. Eventually, all seven of them
stood before him. He had taken up a hand axe and a longsword, from the
broken corpses of the guards in his rage. The screaming of his mother and
the bellowing of the priest sounded the same as the flies that buzzed in his
ears, and were promptly shooed off with a swish of his tail, a shudder of his
muscles, or a flick of his ears. His oldest brother approached first, a huge
hammer in hand. Odrallag's first strike took the other minotaur under the
armpit and into the chest with the hand axe, the second sheared off his left
horn, and half exposed his brother's brain. He jerked the axe free and
turned to face his remaining kin. The came one, two, and three at a time,
and he cut them all down. His last brother he disembowled with his sword,
and split his skull with the axe. The blade of the axe reamined in his head,
and the haft in Odrallag's hand. Blood, brain and gore covered Odrallag's
brown fur as he turned to face the High Priest
and his mother. It was not until his mother's head had literally popped from
her body that fatigue overcame him. It was then that he heard the bellowing
of the priest, and felt the warmth of the Light escaping his body.

So deep in his thoughts and memories, the approach of the old dwarf and his
wolf startled him to such a degree, that he fell from the rock and into the
cold, crisp pool. The hunter's easy laugh was met with an easy laugh of his
own, to his great surprise and he clambered onto the grassy shore. The
hunter motioned for him to follow. The hunter hung the boar he had slain,
and sat next to a large fire, that Odrallag just now realized never went out.
in the light of the sun, this fire seemed bright, and powerful. Here,
the minotaur and the woodsman sat and spoke. They spoke of the past, of the
future, and even of the flames. The wolf lazed about, and feasted on pieces
of boar that the dwarf eventually cooked over the flames. It was well beyond
midnight when they two were finished talking, and Odrallag drifted off to
sleep by the side of the fire. It occurred to him just beofe darkness washed
over him, that the man had not once thrown wood on the roaring fire...

Chapter 3

The Life Ritual, was what the priests called it. A monstrous black haired
minotaur, chained and muzzled stood over the High Altar of the Just. Upon
it, lay Odrallag's mother. She was naked, and beautiful. Odrallag knew he
was not to be looking on, but his brothers had dared him, and, being the
youngest, he always had something to prove. He watched quietly, as the High
Priest and the Just Acolytes chanted and circled the altar, blessing both his
mother, and the captive minotaur. The chanting grew louder, and the black
monster moved closer to the woman. He saw her wince as the
minotaur entered her, and her face seemed to alternate between pleasure and
pain as he thrust himself in and out of her. In short order, the deed was
done, and Odrallag grew surprised as his mother's belly began to rise, almost
immediately. It rose, quicker and quicker, until Odrallag was sure it would
burst, which of course, it did.Blood and gore sprayed the now bellowing
black monster before her, and a black furred calf rolled off of the altar and
onto the ground. At that moment, Odrallag nearly burst from his hiding
place, but fear was in him. Fear of the giant beast, fear of death, but most
of all, fear of the power of the Just Lord.

In moments, the High Priest and his acolytes had surrounded the newborn and
were performing another ritual, at this, Odrallag witnessed a pillar of light
strike down upon his new brother, the babe screamed, but came away healthy
and hale, his cries only the cries of a strong new child. Another soldier,
for the Just Army. It was then, that two guards came, leading a chained and
hooded old woman in robes of black, covered with runes seeming to pulse with
dark energies. An acolyte was before her, and led her up to the altar.The
High Priest stepped up and whispered something into her ear, as he pulled the
hood from her head. The shackles were taken from her hands, but an iron
collar remained around her neck. Odrallag could feel the dark energies as
the old woman began to chant, could feel the evil filling the small clearing
where the altar stood. Then, in a clap of thunder, he saw his mother rise to
her feet, unhurt and beautiful once again. Odrallag was stunned even
further into silence and immobility. That is, until the blood filled his
vision, and rage took over.

Chapter 2

For three weeks Odrallag wandered the forests of the great southern
continent, alternating between fits of blood rage and fits of sobbing and
regret. Often he would wake to a scene much like the one he had witnessed,
the one which sent him into the first of his blood rages. Blood, entrails,
crushed bone and brain. But the scene would stay that way, and the ritual
would never take place again. His stomach twisted when he thought of it.
Curdled as he listened to the screams, as he realized and truly understood
what was taking place on that high altar. Whether it was truly light or
dark, Odrallag could not know. This thought led him to remember the warmth
of the Light leaving him, at which point his blood would rise again, his
vision would blur, and the next thing he remembered, he was sobbing on the
ground again, in a heap of gore. It was after three weeks, that an old
dwarven hunter came upon him, and despite the hunter's feelings on minotaur,
he took pity on the massive, sobbing beast, and brought him into his hut, on
the western outskirts of Seantryn Modan. It was here, that a measure of
clarity would return to Odrallag.

On the third day in the hut, Odrallag woke to the light of the sun, and the
smells of a dung fire in the small hearth. As he rolled from his bed and
made to leave the hut, he nearly had to crawl out the front door. The dwarf
was nowhere to be seen, and the wolf that hunted by his side could not be
sensed either. Odrallag paced about the modest yard, and came to sit on a
large rock, near a small pool. He looked into it and memory returned to
him...

Chapter 1

"In the name of the Just Lord, I cast you out from the Light! And I name you
Kinslayer!" The High Priest's booming voice rocked the gore-covered minotaur
back on his hooves and he stumbled down the steps of the altar. He could
feel it leaving him, could feel the warmth of the Light drain from his very
soul. He could not face the High Priest, and so he turned, and ran, stumbled
and crawled away from the woodland shrine as fast as he could. He ran and
stumbled and ran some more, going on both his hooves and hands, almost as his
ancient ancestors had. By the time he stopped, the tears had mixed with the
blood, snot and spittle that covered his face. "How could it come to this?"
he thought to himself, "How could I be cast out, I am a soldier of the Just!"
His sadness twisted and turned to anger in his stomach, he pawed at the
ground and bellowed in rage, twisting this way and that, looking for blood.
He smelled the fear in the air, and barreled into the thicket, his instincts
taking over. The next thing he felt or remembered was the warm, sticky red
blood and the crunch of bone between his teeth. He had always enjoyed bear
meat....
