Chapter 3

Maravon trained with his brother under the instruction of his father for
months before his father felt he was ready to be sent off to the Academy.
Teaching his son the knowledge of combat was important to the Captain, but he
wanted him to have freedom in picking which tool to apply his techniques. The
day Maravon left for the Academy was a proud day for his father. He felt his
son would prove to bare the LionHeart surname well and accomplish anything he
set his mind to.

It would take many years, but Maravon would rise to the top of his guild. He
was a squire of the Fortress and found purpose fighting for the light. In his
heart he fought so that others could be spared and the injustices of the
wicked would be proven guilty. He would never fight for himself, but only for
others. Maravon would be the executioner of those that committed crimes
against the light, and the sword would be his way to extinguish this flame.

Role

Chapter 2

"If there is one thing I want you to take away from this, my son, is to
always analyze your adversary correctly and act accordingly. The greatest of
virtue I wish to you respect is that of Honor in the way of the sword. Second
to the mind, the blade is a warrior's greatest weapon. The Academy will teach
you, but once you leave the Loch, you will be alone when you travel. Align
yourself with the light and it will protect you. Ill make a self sufficient
warrior out of you yet", said the Captain while smiling.

Maravon bowed to the Lieutenant, and the Lieutenant bowed back. They each
gripped a wooden practice sword in each hand and took their battle stances.

The Captain quickly raised and lowered his hand to begin.

Maravon watched as the Lieutenant dashed sideways and then sprung forward
with a giant leap. In mid air the Lieutenant bellowed a fearsome war cry.
Maravon was unable to move as he looked at the giant rushing towards him. His
legs began to shake violently and then gave out at the knees. He barely got
his swords up in time to block the blow. The force was so tremendous that
both swords were flung from his hands and he was pushed backwards, looking
up. Stars circled his head as he rubbed his eyes.

A giant hand was stuck out before his face and kind eyes looked down at
him."Let me help you up, brother", said the Lieutenant with a smile. Maravon
gave him a wide, toothy grin, and took his brothers hand as he was helped to
stand.

Chapter 1

"Again."

At the command of the Captain, the four guards descended upon a lone guard.
He blocked their sparring blows and put them each into submission one by one.
His movements were quick and powerful. After he was done he leaned over and
picked up each of his sparring opponents.
Good, said the Captain.

"Again."

Young Maravon watched from the side of the arena and studied the lone warrior
and his techniques.
"Are you paying attention, my son?" said the Captain to Maravon.
"Yes, Sir. He blocks their blows, sapping their strength, and then executes
his attack with grace."
"Good, and now you see where the technique gains its name," nodded the
Captain as he turned his head back to the arena.
The lone guard was helping the other four up again when the Captain raised
his hand in halt.
"That will be all for today, Honor Guard. Take to the Barracks.Lieutenant,
if you will stay a moment," said the Captain to the lone warrior.

"Maravon, to the ring."
