Chapter 5

Rhone's first defining moment as a Squire was when
he stumbled upon a well-worn tome telling the
cautionary tale of the Golden Grimoire. Naturally
drawn to texts and statutes as a former advocate
of the Voralian Triumvirate, Rhone took to the
teachings of the Golden Grimoire and began to see
himself as more than a mere prosecutor of the Light.

Rhone had a rare gift for sorcery and weaving Six
Elements, and he wanted not just to explore the
limits of his power, but to promote sorcery as a
tool of the Light so that all may bask in its warmth.
He saw himself as a scholar, and a protector of
others from dark magics and sorcerors, and a
vessel to find and share knowledge with his brethren.
And so he unlocked the secrets of the Warlocks
of the Golden Grimoire, and began his plans to
one day - when poweful and reputable enough -
gather the other sorcerors of the Light to revive
the ancient teachings of that long lost Order.

Chapter 4

It did not take long after he left the Voralian invoker's guild
for Rhone to realize he could not master the Seventh
Element: Earth. It was not a conscious decision, but each
time he tried to move something, even something as small
as a pebble, with his power, Rhone could not feel anything
but a cold, empty void. he could not sense anything but
the same loss he felt years before when he stood above an
open grave, staring down at his mother - once so full of
fiery life - for the last time. It was almost as though his
power over the Seventh Element was buried with her,
forever.

Later in his travels, Rhone gained great power over
the elements, until flame and wind seemed to infuse
his being, and it seemed that perhaps soon he would
unlock the hidden barrier between him and Earth.

But as with all things psychological, that
understanding will only come with acceptance.

Chapter 3

Rhone did return to Voralia that night, but he left his lavish
home and his reputable position, and instead joined the mages
of the Ivory Tower. There he studed with renewed abandon to
harness his newly-revealed sorcerous gifts in service of the
Light so that Justice would spread to ALL the Lands.

Chapter 2

After he stormed out of the Court, Rhone stalked the interior
of his lavish home, plotting a way to stop the rampaging Orc.
As he crossed in front of his marble fireplace he looked up
and saw a silver-bound mallet above the mantle - a gift from
the Captain of the Voralian guard. Rhone nodded. Reaching
up, he took down the mallet and slipped out of his home,
keeping to the shadows as he made his way to Silverpine Road.

He found the Orc as it was finishing its bloody work on the
body of a child, tearing apart fleshy limbs to make a
gruesome trophy for its pitted iron shield. Without a word,
so as to not alert his prey, Rhone set upon the brutish fiend!

And quickly realized he was grossly outmatched.

A full two feet shorter than the Orc and a good hundred pounds
lighter, Rhone's first blow glanced off the brute's muscled
shoulder. Rhones second blow never landed because the Orc,
with a mighty, jarring motion, champed its jaws around the
mallet's head an ripped it from Rhone's hands. Then, with a
swift strike, the Orc swatted the much-smaller Rhone across
the road where he landed hard on the cobblestones and heard
himself squeal.

The Orc then closed, taunting and jeering, until it stood over
Rhone's prone figure. Rhone stirred and lifted himself, oddly
distracted by the bloody spittle dripping from his mouth on to
the gray stone road.

But as all seemed lost, Rhone looked into the Orc's
bloodthirsty eyes and felt a seeting fire light within him.
Instinctually, he stretched out his arm and screamed,

"NO!"

A torrent of silver fire sprouted from Rhones chest, worked
its way down his arms, and leapt from his curled fingers into
the Orc's gaping maw. The Orc staggered backwards, stunned.

"GO BACK TO HELL!!!"

Another torrent of flame burned through Rhone and into the Orc,
this one hotter and more sustained than the last. The Orc
collapsed and was soon reduced into a smoldering heap.

Chapter 1

As a young man, Rhone was an ambitious advocate in the service
of the Voralian Triumvirate. His job was to prosecute criminals
and other vile members of the worst sort society has to offer.
And Rhone was good at his work. His elven heritage bled down
from his grandmother on his father's side, and with it came a
patient, analytical mind that led him to sway even the most
sympathetic jurors toward conviction. And from his fiery-haired
all-too-human mother came an intense passion and unquenchable
thirst for his work that pushed him to pursue even the hardest,
most devious, criminal minds to justice. For years Rhone built
his reputation among the Voralian elite, was invited to all the
grand parties and events, and allowed his life to be consumed
with his work.

And then one day, his world shifted.

Word came to Voralia of a vicious, murderous Orc rampaging
up and down the Silverpine Road, leaving bloody and mutilated
cracasses in its wake. Determined as ever, Rhone the advocate
called the Voralian guard to order, assembled a Grand Tribunal
Court, and demanded that this Orc be brought to Justice.

And yet the Court could not be swayed.

"He has not broken any laws," they said.
"Our hands are tied."
"There is nothing more we can do."

Rhone fumed. Nothing more?! Nothing had been done!!

For the first time, he took matters into his own soft, uncalloused
hands and crossed the line from advocacy into enforcement.
