Chapter 1

The writhing mother looks down to her stomach and two points seem to circle
around while she screams in agony. The points suddenly become still as she
looks to her exposed stomach and then everything goes silent. Her pupils
conquer the eyes and the points pierce through her skin as a bovine child
emerges through the womb, shaking, but alive. She is not as fortunate as the
hooves slither from out of the bleeding hole and stumble to stand upright.
The mucous from the womb clogs his ears while the mother lets out her last
gasp to say, Save me in.. but it is too much and her spinal column as it is
broken when the minotaur child stumbles into the night air upon the wet green
grass. His nostrils flare for life and hot torrents of steam shoot to the
moon. A cry bellows from his mouth and he rests while the light from the moon
helps to close his eye lids. The world is bright but silent. He looks to his
surroundings and spies a wagon. Crawling to it the film of fluid covering his
body begins to slide off. Gaining about three feet he suddenly stops, halted
in his progress towards the light of the wagon. The new muscles begin to burn
as he pulls towards the wagon when finally something at his stomach snaps and
he feels warmth. The umbilical cord springs ahead of him as the placenta
flops to the ground before him. A sudden hunger hits him as he sees it.
Quickly feasting on the warm pile of flesh he continues thereafter towards
the light and warmth of the cabin. Once inside a cat purrs and curls up next
to him when his eyes begin to shut. He feels the tingle of dust upon his
shoulders as he slowly drifts into a deep, safe sleep.

Without thinking the child thinks about the noise he heard and suddenly says
to himself, "Baveiien."
