Chapter 9

Srithra was considered the runt of his litter. Born skinny and weak looking,
his sow shunned him in favor of the his fatter, larger brothers and sisters.
He was cunning though, even at the age when most orclings are nothing more
than machines turning food into exrement. Despite appearances, and perhaps
due to demon blood flowing strongly through his veins, his skinniness did not
denote a weakness. He was alert, and alive with maliciousness while his
brothers and sisters slept after long feedings.

He knew the dangers of being the runt, the slow starvation that was already
starting to take hold. He knew what to do. And so he approached the
fattest, dumbest, and perhaps best loved orcling in the litter while he
slept. His fingers were long and skinny, like the rest of him, a godsend
perhaps, for without they would have never fit around his brother's fat neck.


By the time the rest of the litter awoke, all that was left was a head, with
Srithra slowly gnawing on the femur bone of one of his own siblings. Truly
full for the first time, Srithra couldn't help but grin, showing the rows and
rows of sharp pointing teeth already starting to grow in. The others saw,
and whether they understood or not, room was always available for Srithra at
the sow's teet from then on, and he made a point to occupy it, even if he did
prefer raw flesh.

Srithra is a true orc. Cowardly when it serves him, but always plotting his
revenge.

Role

Chapter 8

While this character is, and will be continued to be played as a sphere
deception character it has evolved slightly into more of a Deception/Gluttony
character.

The reason for this being Srithra's clever (so he thinks) excuse of being
perpetually hungry. He uses this to whine and excuse behaviour that would
otherwise be considered abhorrent. He considers it so very clever because it
is both true (he is, in fact, a glutton who is perpetually hungry for flesh)
and a lie, since he would (and does) kill things and gnaw on their bones even
if he isn't particularly hungry.

He has also be pondering (in his own way) the path toward chieftan. So far
he seems to think that perhaps not having that target painted on his back
would be better, and perhaps simply being a favored member of the Horde is
preferrable. To this end, he will be seeking out Mergulla, to learn the ways
of a true glutton, and how to work from behing the Orc Village's throne.

Chapter 7

In his talk with Mergulla, Srithra was told he was too skinny, that he needed
to broaden his apetites and indulge in sins to truly explore his gluttonous
nature.To this end, Srithra will be exploring the seven deadly sins (as in
The Divine Comedy (insert wikipedia "citation")) because hey, it seemed like
a good place to start.

luxuria (extravagance)

This is something that appeals to Srithra, to have servants and nice things,
the way Mergulla surrounds herself, but being an orc, he has simpler tastes.
Not a sin he will likely explore much, though having nice things is always
good.

gula (gluttony)

By far Srithra's favorite sin. To indulge overly in something he enjoys
doing, be it eating flesh, drinking blood, causing fear or pain, or simply
lying and cheating because he can.

avaritia (avarice/greed)

Srithra is, not very greedy for an orc.More practical by nature, having
things he cannot use isn't something he lusts for. Cheating someone out of
their things, however, is always acceptable.

acedia (acedia/discouragement)

This is something Srithra will grow to appreciate more and more. He already
enjoys removing the will to fight from his opponents, and while he does not
strip them naked to break their will, he does take anything of value. Rather
than issue taunts over the dead, he simply dismisses them, in an attempt to
break their spirits.

ira (wrath)

Deceptive by nature, Srithra is not one to overindulge in wrath or anger.
Preferring to nurse a grude and plot cold hearted revenge even from his
suckling days, Srithra only indulges in the berserking fury that is his
birthright, but otherwise remains cool headed.

invidia (envy)

Envy, as opposed to greed, is something that Srithra can indulge in. Wanting
the strength, power, station, or abilities of another if only to make himself
appear that much stronger, is something Srithra will grow into.

superbia (pride)

Srithra is a very prideful creature, for an orc. He has no problems being
called stupid, or cowardly, but he believes he is neither. He sees himself
as the epitome of what it is to embody an orc. He considers himself the most
cunning of creatures, and strong no matter how underestimated he may be.

Chapter 6

The roleplay reasons behind Srithra's early edge choices and a future one:

Marcher:

Due to his sinuous build, Srithra moves more ably than his bulky kin. He is
also rather tall for an orc, though his posture hides his true stature, and
his long strides allow him to move about with minimal effort. The awakening
demon blood in his veins also lends him extra stamina.

Apt Learner:

Srithra is an exceptionally cunning creature, and it seemed appropriate that
he should learn more due to his conniving mind.

Demon in the Woodpile (not chosen yet):

This edge will be taken when Srithra reaches maturity and the demon blood
fully awakens within him. This should also be accompanied by an updated
description with a more demonic bent, including elongated horns. It may take
on a demonic beard upon middle or old age which is recorded here in case I
forget and someone wants to poke me about it.

Chapter 5

Glutton: This was an obvious edge choice. Srithra went through the pain of
ingesting spoils to stretch his stomach, and is now reaping the rewards.
There should be stretch marks on his belly in the updated mature description.
is worth noting that Srithra's gluttonous nature is both true (he is an
orc) and a lie (he plays up it's importance). Mostly this entry is filler in
case someone is ready this that shouldn't be (Hi!) in which case this offers
them the opportunity to quit before they ruin the good stuff.

Eating Contest:This is an attempt at a big deception, rather than Srithra's
usual petty lies and little misdirections.

...After pillaging Akan with a couple of younger orcs, Srithra sat in his
favorite spot in the village, patting his distended stomach. A though
tumbled through his head, gathering steam as a rock down a hill... "I am the
greatest eater in Thera. I have just feasted on untold pounds of dwarf
flesh.... How can I turn this to my advantage?" And thus is born the clever
workings of a deception in the orc mind.

The basic idea is as follows: Talk Mergulla into "sponsoring" an eating
contest. Use her "sponsorship" to get Iunna to do all the actual work of
setting up/running the contest, while masking that it was Srithra behind it.
Win said (in Srithra's mind) rigged contest. Profit!

I'm leaving details sparse to leave room for improvisation, but it will
likely entail enticing Mergulla in one of a few ways (slave, watch
lighthearts glutton themselves, etc) and telling a sob story to Iunna
(slave/fear/simple messenger/lazy Mergulla).

Chapter 4

Opportunistic Carnivore: This edge choice fits in nicely with Srithra glutton
persona, and helps to further the true facade that he is projecting here.

Lasher: This one was chosen in the spirit of acedia for it's demoralizing
effect.It is sometimes hard in the heat of things to remember to
demoralize, but taunting after a lashing is something Srithra can always
remember.

Undersight: Hiding in caves and using the Underdark to get from place to
place is going to become increasingly important. Being able to navigate the
Underdark safely... That is just plain smart.

Skrugga: This adaptation fits perfectly with Srithra's character. It isn't
obvious like a Mundungu's rituals, or a Mamlauks heavy weapons, and Srithra
is far far from a masochist. It is somewhat deceptive and sneaky in nature
and feel.

Last Name: CarrionEater is a name Srithra gave to himself. As it is both
true and a lie, it fit with his overall goals. It reflects the public
persona he is trying to project, and is just a very cool orc name.

Sneak God: As with his last name, this is essentially something Srithra has
made up himself. He has heard tales of a deception god who once walked the
lands, and believe that the god still exists. He reasoning is that a true
"Sneak God' would hide his true nature or hide entirely. Unsure which is the
case here, he may seek out known Immortals to "test" them and see if they are
his "Sneak God" in disguise. This is not a god one would openly worship in
Srithra's opinion, but rather to keep deep in your secret heart, so you will
not see any prayers to his Sneak God, but rather to try and live the ways of
the deceptive and let the approval of the Sneak God come in it's own time and
way.

Chapter 3

Srithra was never designed as a Mergulla follower in the strictest sense of
the word. Since there is no patron immortal of deception, and Srithra
believes that a true "Sneak God" wouldn't reveal himself, but might take on
another guise, Srithra seeks out immortals to test their likelihood of Sneak
Godery.

Srithra started his relationship with Mergulla for twofold reason 1) Because
she is a "kindred spirit" and 2) to further the gluttonous "ruse" he is
playing. The idea is not to be a follower/worhsipper per se, though the
title is certainly apprecaited and useful, but rather to have her enjoy
watching Srithra's works of gluttony (and the other sins) and perhaps have
her "join in" from time to time.

I don't know if this will clear things up for you, Mergulla, but hopefully if
we talk I can make it more clear if this entry isn't enough (It's a bit
disjointed).

Chapter 2

Mergulla wants to hold an eating contest for her amusement. Watching
lighthearts and those who would shiver before her appetites glut themselves
on food for her amusement will amuse her. As is her wont, she has commanded
Srithra to make this happen, and for him to work with Weggetana (a gnome
transmuter of the Inn who is known for cooking) in order to avoid doing any
work herself. Sirthra, having never seen or met this particular gnome is
considering approaching Iunna directly (instead of working through Weggetana)
to get the eating contest held.

Role

Chapter 1

Srithra had never seen the appeal of becoming Chief of Grinning Skulls,
preferring instead to stand behind the throne and reap the benefits. After
years of struggle though, he has seen how the village can languish under a
Chief without with no will to make things happen. As such, he has decided he
will indeed work to become the Chief to accomplish positive changes for the
orcs and orc village.

Escape Tunnel:

Having this lead directly into the heart of dwarven territory with not way to
circumvent the mountain pass leading from the Orc village to Voralia make
this tunnel of dubious use in Srithra's opinion. He first order as Chief
will be to build a tunnel heading south to Bramblefield Road.

The Orc Warrens, home of the strongest orcs of the village is too friendly to
non-orcs, especially those of the Outlanders who will hide and seek refuge
there to make their strikes against the Horde. Srithra will work with
Tremblefist to craft an icor in the cauldron that will flood the cavern
complex with some sort of smoke that will be extremely toxic to non-orcs.
