#28382, "[HERALD] Thaltran the Hand of the Unseen, Bandit King of Hamsah Mu'tazz"
|
Thaltran the Hand of the Unseen, Bandit King of Hamsah Mu'tazz
DescriptionSeemingly woven in the shape of a net around his head are scraggly white hairs braided and tied at the back with a black strip of leather. This fellow's entire body, being bald except for his braid of hair, is rather dark for his kind. Interesting and distinct facial features pronounce themselves well. A dismal set of large milky-white eyes, a nose that simply juts off his face and a almost blocky jaw-line seem as if they were sculpted from granite. A small scorched twig sticks out of the corner of his mouth which he grounds with his teeth. A miniscule silhouette is the indication of his stature. Short and stocky would be an understatement when describing this being, as wide shoulders seem to be thrusting themselves outward before tapering down to rigidly muscled arms. Slender sinewy legs support his torso and an array of mixed up armor. Sleeves that gleam like polished onyx, and a shining copper breastplate look like they would offer ample protection. Several small daggers are strapped around his waist and on his back is knapsack with hilts and a blackjack protruding, giving the strong impression of preparation. One final glance allows you to notice...

RoleChapter 5 Humble Beginnings. Added Sun Jul 5 12:01:25 2009 at level 25:The truth about hierarchies is that they give a person a chance to really come to know the words "Know thy place." Beginning one, early- afternoon, summer day with the smile of a father and mother and the birth of a new child the hierarchy unfolded with his place already decided. Like his father and grandfather before, he would serve as the heir to the "Larue" family legacy. The members of the Larue family are humble servants of Cragstone. From one generation to the next the family has stayed at the feet of each new king, never faltering, being the best footmen and women they could be. Unfortunately, servants are just what the name implies, never meant to be any more. It doesn't matter if someone is the most respected servant within the city, they are still a servant. If they and their children and children's, children will never be any more than servants, they will never be free to live by their own desires. The lives of svirfnebli within Cragstone have been like this for many years, and will continue long into the future, that is the plain and simple truth. So when a young man who, happens to be a servant, falls for a life of thievery, not much good comes from the result. Maybe, just maybe he could have been truly happy, maybe if he was never caught, maybe if his passion for material wealth hadn't been so great... then maybe the young servant wouldn't have been discovered and escorted to the surface. As it turn out, life is a strange thing indeed, how fate plays a role in everyones lives. It turned one of the most respected servant of the Royal house of Cragstone into an outcast who will forever resent the one who capitalized on his folly. This foolish man now called Thaltran, outcast of the Larue family, moved to a surface dweller city on his own path, one to bring pride back to his name and maybe bring a bit of heft to his pockets and stature in his chosen profession.

RoleChapter 4 The Future Bandit King. Added Wed Jul 8 15:37:56 2009 at level 32:City streets, unlike anything within the wildest imagination of youthful Svirfnebli, are filled with a plethora of people with a multitude of ideas. For someone such as Thaltran who had lived his entire life so sheltered, and away from any topsider, to suddenly be thrust into this situation was a rush to his senses. Huge giants, some who float, some appearing on fire and even some which appear to glitter as water, are amongst so many who roam the cities above ground. Large, strong and dim these monsters of size incite a desire to trick, choke, and rob them blind as test subjects for tougher opponents. Defyingly quick, the vast legions of the high elves and their nature cousins which barely compare to the awe inspiring dexterity of the winged and furrier races clutter the streets following nearly every religion and creed. These masters of quickness and intellect are on most occasions much stronger adversaries, many of which can also detect him within the shadows. Each of these individuals seem to be a conquest, their belongings are begging to be plucked, their coins seeking to change hands, and their confidence pleading to falter under the assault of an up and coming binder. Deep within him, his restless spirit grows with an increased hunger for new methods of stripping those around him. More and more the while tying his victims the feeling of euphoria gushes throughout his body fueling the passion within his thieving soul. This glorious feeling which fills his essence when he is successful, in binding every possible limb, simply fuels his passion to grow stronger, win more often, and become the Bandit King. He has only recently joined the guild and yet he holds the fourth position, just shy of being elite. Vigorously striving for further enrichment of a bank account, clothing, and stature his future appears to look bright, very bright. A Passion for Thievery.

RoleChapter 3 A Diplomat, A Scholar, and A Politician. Added Sun Jul 19 13:53:53 2009 at level 42:Politics, as copious as color, within all things natural and unnatural are revealed only when they run their course and only to whom has understood the insight from the originator. Thieves residing within the shadows see and understand many connections that would go unnoticed to a less skilled eye. Thaltran being a wise and understanding man has known of political implications and their far reaching strength for most of his life, from lowly servant to future Bandit King. Slowly although assuredly mastering his craft has allowed him contact with a great deal of individuals, each with their own talents and goals. Singers, assassins, and warriors of the Battleragers he alerts to the location of magi, and within a flip of a coin them to the hordes of the Nexus island and Imperial patrols. Selling and trading goods with all manor of life to gain favor and services, garnishing little bits of strength, power, and stature as each ploy leads to the next. For some time now he has reigned supreme as the top ranking thief within his guild and considers it only a matter of time until the title of Bandit King is his own. To achieve this accomplishment at such a rapid pace took a great deal of conning shopkeepers of their precious coins and a few visits to a place called the Inn of Eternal Star. Many days he has spent gambling in rabbit's corner, multitudes of nights standing before Olin listening to the whispers of those around him. Of all the places to learn learn how to influence others, surely, the Inn is the focal point for it all. Although not a exceedingly cheerful nor excitable man, he has choose a point of operations for the unending goal of fame and stature. To be among the Heralds of the Eternal Star, which houses the largest library within the world, and the most diverse group of individuals on the face of Thera, is now an addition to his goal and in the end he will be victorious.

RoleChapter 2 The Growing Legacy of the Inn. Added Sat Aug 1 20:19:57 2009 at level 51:A place to belong is sought by so many people within Thera and only achieved by a very select few. The glorious residence and place of business know as the Inn of Eternal Star has become Thaltran's home. It began, so long ago, as a thief and a shapeshifter sitting around the gambling table, neither of which thinking of the Inn as a residence. Before long the thief began to realize the usefulness of such a location to center his operations as trader and merchant as well as it's uses as a place of recreation. After some time and consideration his views of the inn began to skew and he began to feel a kinship among the patrons as well as tenders. A lithe fela with silvery fur known as Zalenna, the High Herald, was then to became his goal, and with his virtually unmatched passion for reaching them, he was soon to find her. Upon taking the first steps of refuge within the Inn she gave him multiple tasks, one to find his talents and another for him to demonstrate. After some length of discussion he had decided to undertake the splendid art of decoration as his own. His first task was the construction of a small statue of a kitten glancing back at it's owner, which gave Zalenna such a thrill, and after his original crude attempts he too was satisfied. What followed was a thrilling experience and the beginning of his enjoyment of working with is hands, other than bindings, although it shall not be the last.
