Chapter 5

It was a calm night and a light breeze could be felt russling the drapes.
The air was filled with the sounds of the wild; the motion of the trees
as it danced with the wind, their leaves shouting in delight as they moved
with one another in blissful activity. On the wind the chirps of restless
birds could be heard, and calling of animals as they spoke to one another.

Then there was nothing but silence, the air became chilled, and the omens
of death could be felt. It was this that the young girl began to stir in
her bed. She became restless, tossing and turning in agony as she was
plagued to relive terrible events.

She was running through fields of flowers with her sister Lalial, laughing
and playing as any children do, fighting the non-existant shadows that
waited over every hillside. Then there was nothing but darkness.....

A orange light filled slowly began to become visible in the west. She ran
to it out of fear, to seek haven from the darkness, but as she approached
it became clear it was a village that was alit with fire. Chilling cries
filled the air, the kind that only escaped ones lips at death. Cries of
women were the loudest of all as they begged for their childrens lives,
only to be cut down without remorse, and the sobs of the children cut short.
The Orc raiders ran about fearless now, seeking to pillage what they could
before all was consumed by the fire, yet none stopped to pause as the little
girl cried out in agony for those who were lossed. She was invisible to them.

Then darkness overwhelmed her.

Flashes of events began to appear, and leave as quickly as thoughts of a young
child. Words of dark rituals could be heard taken place, raising the dead and
enslaving souls. Young warriors taken delight as their slumbering victim began
to cry out in agony from the pains of disease and poisons. More memories came
to her unbiddened until she was one again overwhelmed by darkness.

The cold embrace of the stone upon her face awoke her with a start. She slowly
rose for she noticed she had come to rest on a cliff edge overlooking a pasture
of green. On either end, two armies prepared for a great battle. Like a rush of
two winds comming against one another, the forces of light and dark collided.
Shouts of pain, agony, and death. The forces of light, ever vigilant, ever
faithful, slowly began to be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers, then darkness
once again overtook her.

Chapter 4

She awoke with a start in her bed, and while tears came unbidden to her eyes,
she did not cry out. She was always thought of as being unnaturally courageous,
though very shy.

A soft and soothing voice of the divine filled the air, 'You have seen the harsh
reality that lies just outside your haven, but know that it shant always be so.
Inside you lies a gift that many do not come to know of, that of a true healer.'

'Know that you will be a beacon of hope Adelin Earanorn for the followers of
light. Your gift shall give the crusaders unwavering faith in their duty, for
you shall grant them the true blessings of thy Lord, protecting them from the
darkness. No longer will they have to give their lives for you shall keep them
whole.'

A pure white light begins to come to shape in the corner.

'I shall be with you every step of the way Young Adelin, Let us together be
a beacon of light'

Chapter 3

She rested before a rocky cliff, and though she was tired from the long
journey, a feel of satisfaction overwhelmed her as she finally reached
her destination. A light breeze overtook her, flavored by the sea,
rejuvenating her body and soul. A soothing voice filled the air around
her, and a shining light came from the west. She followed the voice
ever faithfully, knowing it was her Lord who now guided her to his shrine.

The bright light burst. A thousand sparks of light flew in every direction,
and as the light began to dissipate, The Lord of the Archons stood before
her. As she gazed up , she was overwhelmed by his beauty, such beauty was
void of any words worthy to describe it.

It was upon that rocky cliff she pledged herself, and though she knew it
would not be the last time, she realized that it was just now she was to
truly begin her journey. To find her purpose.

Chapter 2

It was in her search of purpose that she tore herself away from the shrine,
and though she found it immensely difficult to leave the shrine, as
well as her Lords side, she made her way back to the Pass of Gol Galath.
Fall had come to Thera, the winds grew to be more brisk and harsh, and
the trees around began to portray the wonders of the spectrum. Flashes
of gold and red were seen everywhere as the rays of the sun illuminated
the leaves.

Though the light began to retreat for winter, and the frost speckled her
surroundings, she found herself blissful. Many things had changed, not
only in the way she carried herself, but also in the manner she spoke.
There was a presence of tranquility around her, and her voice seemed to
echo to that of Lord Corrlaans, giving all those around her a soothing
peace. Things were indeed beginning to change, and while she did not
know what path it would lead her, she found herself never questioning
herself, there was always an absoluteness with every decision.

She found that in the next few years, she would feel her presence pulled
all over the realm. Guiding not only the youth in their journey, but also
preaching the faith of Corrlaan. At every visit, she found more allies, more
friends that offered their blade, spells, and or own blessings to cause. It
was not all allies she found however, along her journey she began to come
across more and more of those she had learned to be wary of from her dreams.

More and more she was called for, and she found herself quickly becomming
a shield, a guardian for those of Light. She was however also becomming a
target of darkness, for she found herself halting the paths of darkness at
every turn she made. It was not always filled with success however, and while
she had taken a role of a guardian, she found herself never truly capable of
eliminating the darkness. She once again began to wonder of her purpose.

It was in the Acolytes of the Golden Sun she once again found her path. She
had come to accept that her cause was greater then the individual, that while
she may be a shield of light, she would never be the tip of the spear to
strike at the darkness. It was then she took the oath of the Acolytes, to be
a guiding hand to the cause. To be a shield to the valiant warriors who risked
their lives every day for the light, for a better world.

Role

Chapter 1

Surrounded with a shimmering glow, a beautiful maiden garbed in a simple,
but lovely dress of pristine white satin, comes to kneel before three large
megaliths covered in strange etchings. With her hands folded within one
another, her eyes closed tight, a serene, soothing voice originates from
her lips.

"These many years seem to flutter by much as that of a single heartbeat.
Though it feels as if it has been an eternity since i have stood before
you, since i have come to devout prayer within your temple. But know not
that my faith has never wavered within this, that i have forever been
a voice of guidance, of purpose.


I have experienced things that are difficult to formulate words for. For
this war has taken a devestating toll on those who have valiantly fought
for the light. Many of those i have come to call dear friends, now rest
within the heavenly skies, and i hope as you have been an ever guiding
presence within my life, shall come to watch over their spirits in the
afterlife.

It is with my hope that they shall know mercy within the afterlife, that
their spirits may be born anew, free of pain, suffering, and that they shall
no longer be burdened with that which came with the task they gave their life
for. I hope that they know joy, and fulfillment within their memories, I hope
that they may finally know rest, peace."

Her eyes begin to briefly moisten as she remembers all those who have fallen.

"These many years, i have felt my body torn from one edge of the world to the
other. It is with these many years, i have come to known how important the
task at hand is, and how much is truly left to do. Many young minds walk with
guidance, without purpose... Many still fall victim to that which lurks within
the shadows, the darkness. However, it is even as i stand at the front, in
the darkest and coldest of nights, I find comfort, warmth, within all that you
have teached me.

It is on these nights, i find my resolve born anew, strengthened by the sense
of purpose, the path of righteousness. For it is within these nights as i look
to those around me, both faces of new and old, that a overwhelming surge flows
through me. For it is as these many years have passed, i see the shadows become
more reckless, more frantic. So much so that even the darks gods awake from their
slumber and attempt to thwart all our progress.

It is with ever day that passes, that i feel more and more anew, our thoughts
entwined. Though you may not always stand before me, it is with your hand that
forever guides my actions. It is more and more, i find my hand and voice being
that guidance for others.

May we all be blessed with your guidance, your presence, your protection."
