Chapter 8

. The early years in many peoples lives are filled with hopes and dreams.
Dreams held by concerned parents, good friends, bitter enemies, and most of
all the child which gives hope to the future. Dreams are often shaped by the
courses taken in life, the push of a parent towards a profession in many cases
is the starting point for many dreams to come.
. Twelve hundred and fifty three years ago the push of a proud pair of
avian parents toward the cities finest guild gave birth to the beginning of
Kalageadon Rafeather's dream, to become the absolute best shapeshifter in all
of Thera. This dream however was somewhat short lived. It was during the
time spent within the chilly windswept guildhalls that these dreams for the
future came crashing down and reformed into something completely different.
. On that night a fierce storm was raging throughout a wicked sky. With
his master at his side the young arial recited the incantation but before it could
be completed a deafening boom resounded with the blazing ferocity of the
heavens mighty bolt. The blackest pitch engulfed the mind of the boy eagerly.
. Trapped within subspace and time the boy stayed aging a single year
for each century, unable to know sensation. Occasionally a glimpse into the
world would shine just bright enough to reach his mind, normally wars and
battles. The light and darkness, those of order and chaos, even the magically
inclined and those whom detest its usage.
. Being the only input from the outside world these battles and their
concepts became his soul form of concentration aside from the horrific failure of
his attempt to control magic. During one of these epic occurrences was when
his miraculous deliverance occurred. No matter if from a divine plan or random
act he was finally free. The storming maelstrom which broke through
subspace dropped him within a glorious blue sky beyond the northern skies of
Galadon, his future home.

Chapter 7

. Upon arrival back into Thera the young arial could barely move a
muscle but managed just enough energy to open his wings to keep from
crashing to the ground. In the wide open plains he managed to land by the
charred carcus with just enough flesh to keep him from starvation. With a
couple days of rest and some food in his belly he wandered around aimlessly
until finding a small trail which he decided to follow.
. The trail lead to a road then a city and served as a new beginning,
acting as the first steps to the voyage of his new life. After a few years of
learning how to survive on his own and increasing his knowledge of the land
he made his way up the mountain toward what people called the Arial city.
Upon his arrival in this secluded city his thoughts came crashing together.
. A mighty burst through his clouded mind snapped him back to reality.
His family, friends, home and all that he knew was gone. He was alive more
than a thousand years after everything important to him crumbled to dust. Like
a mighty storm something inside of him broke loose. He punched and kicked,
screeched and clawed until his hands and feet bled. His anger had found a
home and it's impact was the magic which caused his plight.
. Like any act of devastation he had found his target and was bearing
down on it with all the fury he could muster. His goal became to stop any and
all who this could happen to and show them all.... What must never be done, by
his natural force. It was at this time in which all the battles he witnessed in
subspace came flashing back and he knew then, that the path of the warrior
was his tool of destruction.

Chapter 6

. The path of the warrior was a quick study for Kalageadon with the
numerous years to contemplate the multitude of battles swirling throughout his
mind, it was almost second nature. His path within the warriors guild has been
swift with only a seldom few setbacks and he is hoping that chance continues
to be on his side when it comes to gaining a hut in the future.
. Within his many observations while stranded in subspace he was able
to come up with the conclusion of which weapon he should concentrate upon
and to whom he should seek to further the path of his storm. His decisions did
not come lightly but in the end he choose to set his course to the village with
the awesome destructive power of maces in his hands.
. It didn't take long before those misguided seekers of arcane power
came before him in battle and shorter still the time it took for them to fall. First
was a fierce battle with a spiny hedgehog which turned out to be a half-elf in
disguise. His smashing blows were too strong and penetrated the piercing
defenses of the beast with ease. A couple moons later the young arial's fury
raged again this time on a necromancer and his unsightly golem. Perhaps
soon he will prove himself to the village on a greater scale.
. Some days he helps to defend the village, others as their scout in
dangerous locations, and from time to time he has whittled away at the Scion or
Imperial guardians so that the village may regain their head. It was here on the
battlefield in which he learned of Neltouda and her crew by laying witness to
Nian, a warrior for the light. In that moment a third branch of his storm brewed,
to be a great warrior whose skills are seldom matched, to rage against his and
the village enemies with ferocious might, and to seek this captain and know
more of those like himself.

Chapter 5

. Two years pass and now Yazdren has become a village berserker. The
mighty battle in which it occurred is still fresh in his memory. Striking out
against a hearty minotaur warrior, whom wielded some of the strongest swords
he has come across, in defense of the massive giant.
. On that day he would not be denied, the fury of his storm would not be
stopped and time after time he would drive the mighty warrior back, whom
already fell his village kinsmen. With the aid of the Drillmaster's glorious song
of resisting and soothing melodies he was able to punish the minotaur through
his stony skin and flashy white aura. After several failed attempts at striking the
giant he finally gave up and ran, leaving Yazdren the victor, and savior of the
massive giant in the eyes of the Drillmaster.
. By proving his combat prowess he was able to gain enough favor to
show the Drillmaster that he belonged within a hut, and so it came to be. No
longer was Yazdren an applicant but now a full brother within the village, a
BattleRager. When inducted into the village he found a renewed confidence
and a fulfillment of one tier of his goal. Now it would be his objectives to
continue war with the magi and find the ship of lady Neltouda.
. While passing from the Hamsah docks toward the Arkham harbor one
nasty evening within the whirling winds of a tempest he searched as Nian had
suggested. First crossing a bit of ocean, then leading to the cliffs of insanity,
and just as he was about to call the journey a bust he glanced toward the sky.
To his great disbelief he had found it, Finally.

Chapter 4

. The massive ship namely called the "Thundering Maiden" is very much
a mystical ship endowed with the essence of what lies around it. Woven
clouds for sails, solidified rain condensed and formed into the hull and at the
helm the awesome force of lightning, all formed by the strength of its captain.
To Yazdren, she is a marvel and inspires awe and near disbelief but after
meeting lady Neltouda he understands the miracle.
. While lounging on the main deck one day, a little drunk from a flask of
whiskey he was confronted by the goddess herself. Her presence was
inspiring and brought a smile to the avian's face. Soon he was invited into the
captain's quarters and they both sat down for a chat.
. The two sat, drank and conversed of many topics, mostly about the
arial's past and plans for the future. Then the captain began going into detail of
what being a member of the crew truly was about. Inspiration, the thoughts,
actions, depictions, or any act that brings about a new and artistic thought, act
or feeling. Not only would it be a shipmate's duty to inspire those whom he
fought alongside but those whom he fought against as well.
. Yazdren thought long and hard making his decision to take on this task,
believing he could come up with some way to accomplish this. To inspire ones
allies he thought wouldn't be too tough. Telling a story there, an inspiring battle
here, and before long his brothers and sisters would be telling tales of his
actions and taking up their own but how to inspire an enemy is a very different
idea.
. Surely slaughtering ones enemies would get them talking but what
positive could come of that. That action alone wouldn't help persuade his
enemies to change their course, or tell stories of his mighty acts, but what if no
matter what he upholds the code of the village, grants his enemies the same
respects he would to a fallen ally, and gives an effort to know them for what
they are no matter how misguided they seem. That he realized would be his
goal, to know his enemies for more than just the moments they brawl and his
enemies would know him in return.

Chapter 3

. The potential energy of a storm is so massive it is often times hard to
perceive and the further and longer it brews many times the stronger and more
powerful it becomes because of this. Sometimes however the storm is routed
by a mountain chain, or collides with another squall to diminish its size and
intensity. Yazdren has come to this conclusion about the storm which drives
him and it's seemingly erratic behavior.
. In the heat of battle the avian's storm is at its peak although each time
he suffers a setback it is rather frustrating. He imagines, it is a rather rough
feeling for anyone, feeling as though they should have done better or were
unlucky. Often he uses this opportunity to find what good can come of his
setbacks and uses them to propel further ahead. Other times when his storm
has collided with another, he again uses that time and converses so he can
grow in understanding of himself and his enemies.
. Many days he has sat in the crows nest or the forecastle deck of his
matron's ship to converse and ponder, often over some of her sweet brew.
Speaking with many people from the lowly orc whom he has inspired to write
poetry to the rhyme of resistance himself which they both agree to disagree but
still respect one another. Throughout these chats he came to realize that the
more people he interacts with the more influence he has, be it positive, or
negative.
. Most assuredly and inevitably the flux of a storm rolls in a cycle, it has its
peaks, and it has its lows. Within Yazdren's life he is broken down, and
reformed over and over, never truly stopping nor expanding even though
sometimes he is unable to perceive and understand it. His life and the storm
which drives him directs him further toward his goals of being an outstanding
village warrior and an inspiration to any whom he meets.

Chapter 2

. Respect can mean many things from a right or privilege, to a difference
in some way, or in regards to the most simple form of honor. The final form of
respect is something that Yazdren has come to desire greatly in his life. It is
within every aspect of his life beginning with the first commandment on the
village tablet. This respect, and its associated emotions such as pride and
acknowledgment, is something which he seeks in any interaction.
. More often than not, respect is something that must be earned, through
words or action, it is seldom given without reason. Yazdren believes that
everyone should feel some form of respect and admiration, be it for the gods
and mortal leader, for thine allies, for the beautiful maelstrom, or for ones
enemies. It should both be given and received in his eyes. If it be fear of a
ferocious enemy, to hold a fallen ally in regard, or a hearty understanding of
how good someone is in battle.
. To receive respect one can not perform acts that are perceived beneath
them in thought or action and one must understand the person to judge this.
The young avian understands this deeply and learns from nearly all he
interacts with something about them to give him an idea of how much respect
they should be given. Sure the Rhyme has a lack of fear of him even though
he has bested her multiple times but that is courageous and deserving of the
feelings toward her, yet in his eyes when he saw her take countless unneeded
items from the village pit he felt it was far beneath her.
. Within the Lyceum are contained the history of a great many people,
from villagers to the masters of five. Each has a story, many of them
adventuresome, though all are enlightening. While following his ladies advice
Yazdren read the book aptly named "The Legacy of the Battleragers" as written
by a bard from Thror HammerSong story. The most telling and moving line
within the story was when the mighty dwarf shouted at the top of his lungs "Our
Bloody Courage!" This sent a chill down his back and at the same time he
realized that was at the top of his reasons to give and receive respect.
. With enough time or outside interference nearly any task no matter how
remedial can become an adventure. This brief thought crossed his mind after
reading a few tales within the Lyceum, even his wandering around and finding
the place, to begin with, was a little adventuresome. While reading some
stories he found that he felt as if he had lived them himself and some he only
wished he could. His believes that within his adventures he will do what he
can to spread the feelings associated with respect to as many as he can.

Chapter 1

. Throughout the years many battles are known to rage across time,
those within the village know this all too well. During these heated skirmishes
a person often times is able to see deep within themselves to find their true self,
however it is only afterward that most come to realize the great discoveries they
make. It took Yazdren several years of long, hard fighting within the village to
come to realize his beliefs about respect, and a few more to devise a way to
inspire this feeling within others.
. The the act of bringing inspiration to others takes on so many forms, a
glorious victory, standing stalwart in the face of defeat, a new title or position of
authority, even taking time to come to understand ones adversaries. Each of
these acts can play a part in inspiring emotion in all those whom encounter
them and Yazdren has seen this first hand, with someone who's normal actions
are quite contrary to his own.
. The imperial army is not known for having respect but a strong
understanding of fear and clinging to power, however some of them which
have come in contact with Yazdren have come to know the basis for respect.
The large majority of imperials he believes are not his true enemies as most
are not magi but they do harbor them and are led by the most vile and corrupt
of them all. One of these men, a blade by the name of, Zwerg has caught his
attention.
. Zwerg is a brutish minotaur soldier, known as an elite blade, and has
battled with him on multiple occasions. After most Yazdren attempts to take
time with him to understand why he does what he does, to know the beast.
Through these battles and conversations the minotaur has learned the most
basic form of respect. As it happens, by request, he one day simply halted his
attack to allow the avian a fair battle with a formidable member of the
shapechangers guild, knowing full and well they could smash him together.
. When something one has been working on for an extended period of
time comes to fruition a great joy and pride is often experienced by its creator.
These feelings filled the avian when he saw his efforts bare fruit, even in its
most simple form, because everything has to have a beginning.
Understanding that even the most brutish and stubborn of Thera's inhabitants
have within them the capacity for change inspires new hope in Yazdren as he
looks to the future.
