Corilanth Tal-Siyth the Mummy Lord
DescriptionThe disgusting smell of embalming fluid and rotted flesh brings your gaze upon this figure. Reeking of a rotten tomb the figure standing before you seems to be human in origin, but not anymore. Tattered bandages stained with old blood and infectious bodily fluids cover this creature's body, draping from his limbs carelessly. The portions of his body not completely covered reveal remains of embalmed leathery flesh, rotted in some places and exposing bone in others, Hollow empty eye socks with nothing but a faint reddish glow emitting from them are all that are left of this creatures eyes. Yellow and green crooked teeth emit from a strip of leathery flesh that were once lips. His movement is commanding and menacing, and an almost soundless moan continuously emits through the hole in his bandaged neck where his throat once was. Looking closely, you notice that

RoleChapter 7 The past Added Sun Jul 4 17:14:48 2004 at level 1:Corilanth does not know where he was born.....his parents, family heritage, all lost with time. As long as he can remember though he has been on his own, with only vague memories of those who cared for him until the age of seven or eight. Not the strongest person, and fearing direct conflicts, corilanth never resulted to stealing or killing other people to survive. For most of his younger years, he lived off killing animals...cats dogs..even rats. Because of what he ate to survive, he never grew to be big and strong. As he grew older, Corilanth not only killed his prey to survive anymore, he was fascinated with it. He began to study the bodys, their anatomy, even began experimenting with new ways to kill them. It was then he realized whatever he path he would choose in life, there would be death and destruction along the way. The time came in his life where Corilanth killed a man. A ranger by the looks of him, came across the act of Corilanth desecrating an animals body in study. The ranger was enraged, and attacked. Corilanth fell backwards, the force of the rangers body striking his with great force. When he got up, he saw the ranger had fallen on his knife, or perhaps he had stabbed him. He was unsure. Then, as curiosity grew, he began to cut up the fallen rangers body, examining this body part and that. Taking his knapsack, he found enough coins to survive a while, and a small orb, wrapped in black cloth, covered in runes of ancient magic he could not understand. putting the small orb in his beltpouch, he finished his study, finding great pleasure in it, and went on his way. Taking the coins, he went to the necromancers guild in a city nearby, and paid to have his potential in the dark arts tested. The guildmaster told him he had vast potential, unimagineable even, and enrolled him in the guild. Corilanth was pleased, and began to study the ways of death, knowing big things lie in wait for him.

RoleChapter 4 The curse Added Wed Jul 7 14:40:07 2004 at level 19:Corilanth began to hone his fighting skills. Never being a strong fighter, he found it much more to his liking to hide back from the shadows and strike foes at their weakest moment. He is well aware of his power now, and knows that more will come with time...so he is very patient. Perhaps a virtue or a curse, its one of his many qualitys that has kept him true to his studys. Once his foes are slain, Corilanth kepps a journal of his findings with the bodys. The make of an arials wingspan, the quality of the pointy ears of elves. He experiments with different combinations of the dark magics on his prey, seeking new and effective ways to deteriorate their bodys and bring them a quicker death. In some cases, he finds ways to bring them a more drawn out and painful death. All the while his powers are growing darker and stronger, severing him from humanity and fueling his neverending thirst for death. He has found that the dark magics are now one with him, with his body, mind and spirit, at every moment with the wave of his hand he could curse someones body to a terrible disease, or rip their eyesight away, causing them to live in misery. Such terrible things, but to him, its fascinating....its bliss.

RoleChapter 3 Slow and Inevitable Added Thu Jul 8 21:28:20 2004 at level 23:Beats of sweat rolled down Corilanths face as he dove to the right, the mighty mithril axe narrowly missing his head. He couldn't handle much more of this, the axe wielding giant was too much. He had to think of something, think of a quick way out of the...*WHACK* The handle of an axe struck him squarely in the chest, knocking him off his feet. He didn't even have time to think it was so intense. With a thrust of his free hand, Corilanth covered the giants eyes with a thick gooey film, blinding him. The giant wildly and blindly swung his axes, even more dangerous now. Corilanth rolled hard to one side, and pulled a small cloth out of his pocket. When he tossed the cloth aside, it revealed the small black orb. It was either this, or a quick death on a big axe. Feeding his emotions into the orb, it began to glow black light. The giant wildly chopped over a pile of barrels in the alley, looking for corilanth. When the orb started vibrating, he screamed out the words Vizarmah, Az'Mahan! He then threw the orb at the giant, and there was a large explosion. The last thing Corilanth saw through the blood running in his eyes, was the giant disinergrate to dust before his eyes...then all went black. When he awoke, Corilanth felt different. He felt as if something were inside of him, though not pain or pleasure...just a presence. He staggered his way to his guild, and told his guildmaster of the incident, and what he had done. His guildmaster threw back his head and laughed loud enough to quiet the whole guild. "You fool, that orb was meant for the hands of a lich only, made by a lich himself! We dont decide not to use them for fun fool, we dont use them because everyone near the blast is either destroyed instantly, or is diseased, cursed to have his insides rot away at an accelerated rate. Its quite painful too." Corilanths jaw dropped in shock. Could he have been so blind for power that he missed a key element in his study of the orb? He quickly closed his mouth and spoke out hopefully, "Ill just head over to the town cleric, he will handle this and I will be fine." The guildmaster grinned and said, "There aint no cure for it thats known, you fool of an ametuer. You are....doomed." Corilanth sat down, knees shaking. His mind was racing. Solution...there was always a solution to a problem, without a solution, there was no problem...What if....no...but maybe...Corilanth sighed. Then it hit him. There was no cure they knew, that thera knew. But the other planes of exhistance? Corilanth grinned. There would be no stopping him now. He had a new goal, he would seek answers and a cure from the outer planes, and one would be found. He would not fall before his time, before his peak of power. He would be great, the most feared sorcerer in all the lands, not even the promise of decay away to death could stop him. He thought for a moment. One word came to his mind, there was only one group of sorcerers dark enough to reach other planes of exhistance without the talent of conjuration. One group, with hearts so dark mothers used their name to frighten children at night. And that name was Scion.

RoleChapter 2 Study of the clans. Added Sun Jul 18 14:11:24 2004 at level 32:After seeking out the scion and gaining standing in his guild, Corilanth began to study the Ccul'Gra and their world of existance. Corilanth by himself could not find a cure, or the answer he needed to make a cure. The lesser clans of the Ccul'gra seemed only interested in loot and plunder and chaos, from his understanding, and lacked the power to harness the true magics to lift his curse. The greater clans though, were said to harness magic of unimaginable power, however they kept themselves distant from the mortals of thera. It was said if they wished contact with you, they would come to you in their dreams, and speak to you with telepathy and empathy. Corilanth knew he needed to make himself noticed in their world somehow, and hope they came in his dreams before it was too late.

RoleChapter 0 Awakening Added Sun Aug 1 16:41:09 2004 at level 47:Corilanth awoke, so to speak to darkness. Perhaps he didn't exactly awake, perhaps he was drifting in and out of reality the entire time, but could not remember. His entire body ached over, most of all, the burn in his eyes. He went to rub his eyes, a bandaged hand rubbing only an empty socket. Time stretched on....how long had he been down here? He went to take a deep breath and stand, and realized he had not been breathing. Not a creature stirred in the mummification chamber around him. He was alert, lifeless...he felt, cold. But feeling was a different sense all together now...things had changed, he had changed. The disease that had ravaged his body was gone now. Weakly he stood, the scraping of tattered bandages echoing throughout the chamber. He was weak, vulnerable. Had he taken a step back in power to prepare for a jump forth? "Perhaps", he thought to himself. Holding out a bandaged arm he willed the fingers slowly on one hand, and on the other. "Time is on my side now, he thought to himself. Or perhaps it is not. Perhaps all has changed while I slumbered". Moving toward the exit to the mummication chamber, he thought to himself "And now to take what is mine within the chasm..."
