Chapter 2

'Quiltell! Come on! You're going to be late you know!'

That was all the young prince heard as he stumbled out and down the ironwood
circular staircase, panting by the time he descended the great tree. Upon
reaching the ground, he hastily buckled together and his belt and leapt on
his horse before cantering around to the front of his house.

A slight smile crept around his lips. "Me? Late? Never father."

His bewildered father chuckled, shaking his head softly. They rode slowly
north through the undead hills, before cutting east and skirting around
Udgaard and entering into the territory of Evermoon.

As they rode, they talked, his father telling him what was happening. In
Quiltell's mind, this is what he knew.

Quitell knew that he was being sent to Evermoon because his rebellious,
rambunctious ways were nearly that. However, he was a pure spirit and always
have the best thing in mind. He was a novice of the bladesong, and by being
sent to Evermoon they hoped to train him in the more rugged arts of combat,
not everything is a duel in an arena. So, Quiltell and his father were going
to visit some of their distant kin in Evermoon.

Quiltell's house was that of an offside noble family. They lived on the edge
of Darsylon, the house being traditionally more rebellious then most of the
noble houses, and the family of the Zilaveyla's had produced more then one
ranger of great renown. As such, they had good standing in the wood-elven
town.

Quiltell arrived there, and he trained in his preferred weapon, staffs and
spears. He trained night and day, for nearly a century. And as quick as it
began, it was over. The King saw him, handed him a handcarved walking staff
and simply sent him on his way. And so, he walked out into the world.

Role

Chapter 1

As he walked, Quiltell soon stumbled upon two things. A roguish encampment,
rolled by fire giant and dark-elven thugs, and a truly wicked keep, Velkyn
Oloth.

These things were an inspiration. The way the blood of the innocent gleamed
from the hard black-iron weapons, the screams from the Keep within haunted
him. And so, Quiltell was inspired to destroy these creations, to topple them
as a fire topples a tree, completely and utterly.

It also gave him a sense of purpose, and so, he began the life of a Squire,
fighting back the darkness as a torch beats back the infinite caress of the
shadow.
