|
Cyrein Ael'Lil the Unselfish Saint of the Wilds
DescriptionA lithe being is before you, the almond color of his skin creating a crisp contrast to the streaks of raven colored hair that hang wildly about his head. A set of rather pointed ears protrude from the blackened wisps of hair, their shape easily betraying his elven heritage. They sit to either side of a slender face, and a distinct set of cheekbones frame in the emerald eyes that peer out from above them. While no longer containing the vigor of youth, you are able to discern quite a bit of life within his gaze. There is a certain look of savagery about this being, mostly due to the rather subdued and tattered condition of the clothing he wears. His body is held erect when standing, and is thinly framed by a set of slender shoulders. There is also a certain herbal smell emitted from his direction, the odor containing a slightly pungent tinge to it. Judging by his dress and the amount of mud and sand he tracks with him, it is safe to assume he has spent many a day within the wilds.

RoleChapter 6 Cyrein's Journey Added Sat Jan 5 11:21:16 2008 at level 1:Born within the care of the circle AelLil, Cyrein learned early of the ways of the spirit and its function of life. Protectors of nature, and givers of life, this circle focused on the mending and healing ways of nature and its relation to those that studied it. Some were versed in the ways of the druid, more as the protectors, while some were versed in the ways of the healers, more as the defenders. Cyrein was being versed as a healer. Early in life, all brought before the elders who evaluate the youth of the circle, and help in guiding them into their ultimate role within the circle. While all are free to make the decision of where they will stand in the circle, each decision is a final decision and one that the person will carry with them for life. It is told that each persons spirit guides them to such decisions, and as such, much time is allocated to each person to spend in personal reflection and meditation on such things. Upon reaching a certain age, each initiate of the circle is then sent out into the world to find that which his spirit calls to him. It is here they journey for several centuries developing and finding their path. Some return to further the ways of the circle, while some never return at all. Again, it is a matter of the spirit and its ultimate calling. While some feel the need to return and nourish that which created them, others feel there are things of greater concern and in turn give their lives dedicated to a cause. In the end though, it is all about freedom to the people of AelLil. Freedom to choose, and freedom to live free in their spirits guidance. It is their belief that this extends to all. Its Cyreins belief that all should know this. As his spirit venture began, he set out with this in mind.

RoleChapter 5 Spirit Calling Added Tue Jan 8 00:11:36 2008 at level 24:Cyrein sat quietly amongst the gnomish gardens, a place that for some reason had started to grow on him, and began to meditate on the spirit. As he did, he felt himself slip into an almost trance-like state and began to envision the guidance of his spirit. He saw himself almost a century down the road, and to either side of him stood a giant. One was black, the other blue. In this vision, he healed each as they fought against endless hoards of guards. Both wore the garb of barbarians, but each fought in their own style. The black giant was swinging an axe mercilessly, trying to cleave each of his opponents with a single blow of his axes. He was covered in blood, viscera all about him as the bodies quickly piled up. All the time he was using a torch along with him to burn any and all buildings with in his reach. While the blue giant called upon great beasts to fight those that would oppose him. He was though the slight hint of regret in the blue ones eyes, and even felt a slight tinge of sadness in his spirit as the killing blows landed.
He was perplexed by how both these giants, different as night and day, could stand so strongly against such a cause. It was then he realized that what linked these two spirits was his own. For it was his spirit that called out the blessings of healing upon them as they swung. It was then that Cyrein realized his calling, the true calling only heard when in tune with ones spirit. It was the calling of the Ancients within him, and their voices spoke in a united mist that seemed to curl around Cyreins very existence. Heal those that fight to heal the earth. See that they are kept in the lands for as long as can be. Strengthen their actions through your own. With those words whispered across the gentle breeze in the garden, Cyrein awoke from his trance aware of his true being. His purpose. Forest Healer, Strengthener of Their Spirit.

RoleChapter 4 Nature and the Priest Added Mon Jan 14 13:27:00 2008 at level 45:Nature and the Priest
Cyrein sat and pondered his role amongst the wilds, and began to reach a conclusion of sorts on the part he played. He had always know that he was a healer of nature, one that restored the natural cycle to things. Made things fertile gain, creating growth and rebirth for that which was once considered dead.
He pondered further the commitment he had to others though, and how it correlated into his role with the natural world though. It was here he came to a revelation, unlike his cousins of high elf blood, there was no real commitment to anyone. Of course he would aide those that would aide his cause and that of the natural world, but he would allow instinct to guide him in the matters of who to aide and when. Not to gate away on a whim to any that seemed to whisper in his ear. It was instinct that had guided him all along, so why not continue to hear it. To hear truly what the spirit said to him. He was starting to further and further mesh with that which was primal within him, to become truly one with the spirit that lived in him, that lived about him, that encompassed all he saw. The primal instinct grew stronger, howled louder it seemed. Or, perhaps Cyriens ears were just that much more attuned.

RoleChapter 3 The Finding of That Within Added Mon Jan 21 11:12:08 2008 at level 51:Cyrein drifted off into a slumber while lying under the branches of an ebonwood tree on afternoon. As he began to slumber, a dream came over him. In this dream Cyrein felt as him there were some level of consciousness about him, as his thoughts seemed to echo in his head. It was the same vantage point he had before he began his slumber, but this time there was an abundance of wildlife that was before him. Each seemed to represent a certain aspect of man and his spirit. He noticed first the majestic deer, its antlers crowning proudly above his head. In this he saw speed, agility, precaution and awareness. He saw the strength in it horns, but knew also it was no hunter. Perhaps this was his spirit he saw. Yet, he did not feel the connection. Looking on he noticed a black bear that lumbered slowly about the forest, foraging through various bushes trying to find a cache of berries that might satisfy the hunter inside him. Cyrein saw this being, and within him he saw strength, he saw a balanced hunter, one who foraged the lands as well as enjoyed the taste of the meat. Perhaps this was the representation of his spirit. But again, there was not that connection felt.
The more he watched the wildlife that came by, the more puzzled he became, the wolf, the fox, the raccoon, the chipmunk, and even a skunk. Not gave off the connection Cyrein thought he would feel. This puzzled Cyrein, and as he began to stand, something even greater puzzled him. He felt not quite of his own. He felt larger, strangely stronger. His skin of bark. It was at this moment the epiphany came over Cyrein. He had been of his spirit all along. It was here he had observed the wildlife as a tree of the forest.
He gave much thought to the meaning of his spirit. Deeply rooted, his beliefs held him in place. It was through his faith he had grown, and it was his faith that delivered him the spiritual food he needed to grow. His branches spread far allowing cover and shelter to many an animal. Much like his prayers, he was able to provide some cover to many. His bark provided herbal remedies for any that were diseased or ill afflicted. The acorns on his branches fell to the earth and created new life. His leaves provided sustenance to those that sought such. His size showed his faith as unwavering, deeply rooted and able to withstand any winds.
It was here Cyrein felt himself and his spirit within. As the tree of the forest, he was apart of the forest. He was apart of the cycle of life, he was apart of the cycle of replenishment and giving. He was a natural means of healing and cleansing. With his branches spread wide he felt the winds of the spirit rustling him. He had never felt more alive.

RoleChapter 2 Further Journeys Added Sun Jan 27 21:38:49 2008 at level 51:Cyrein AelLil, who had now taken the name of his circle as his last, sat again perched in his usual spot of the gardens of Hillcrest. It was something about the irony of the plentiful nature within the city that drew him here. Almost as if nature was reclaiming its place amongst the cobblestone. Here in the heart of the city, a new heart of nature grew. He saw it as the most promising of places throughout where hed visited. To him it was a sign of change. A sign that the spirit grew just as it had grown in him. It had been many years since his time with the circle, and now more than ever he knew the prospects of returning to such a place were dim. While in some ways this saddened him, in other ways he was uplifted because he knew that he was needed here.
Cyrein had felt like he had made a place amongst the refuge, and had brought with him the powers of healing that none other had within the tree. His ability to heal brought growth he thought. It was also here he was able to engage with others and grow the spirits of those within the tree. From his talks with Riv, his adventures with Falvazar, and his raids with Feilinal, he felt that in some way he had contributed to the growth of their spirits. He did what he could to not detract from their instinct or spirit, and therefore would attach himself to them as they did battle as little as possible. He felt that each should be strong on their own to be a true master of instinct. he felt comfortable in that fact with an individual, he would not travel often with that person. He was not there to be their crutch or to hold them up. He was instead there to nourish what had already grown, and make it more bountiful so that when that persons harvest was upon them, they would know in their spirit that it was plentiful.
While he had been somewhat cynical in his approach to many, there was also a caring and devoted side to Cyrein that wished all would find their instinct and let it guide that which lived within them. He was harsh, but not overly. but not abrupt. A teacher, and a student. All these things described Cyrein, and with these thoughts in mind he pressed forward looking to further strengthen the Tree and all those who would stand against civilization and oppression. He would continue to preach the words of the spirit in the cities. He would begin a journey that he hoped one day would lead to his immortality.
