Chapter 2

Magic manuscripts and ancient legends tell us about magicians of an antiquity who
casted with pure mind concentration. I think it is not the only secret of magic we
lost.

Originally, necromancy is art of conjuring souls of died creatures, basically for
forecast future. Because those who are not held by a flesh are free to travel in
space and time. Moreover, the most powerfull necromancers trapped the caught souls
in chains of flesh, thus they could create not only stupid zombies and golems but
also undeads who could think by their own and take desigion without master. Also
these necromancers could gradually drink energy of the caught souls or eat completely
at hour in need. Now, necromancers raise zombies and create brainless golems, that is
far from true tops of ancient art. Those who thinks, what blood is essenceof life are
fools. Of course, blood is most powerful magic tool which I use in my rituals and
magic. And blood contain part of vital energy. But.... I can raise a dead body from
a tomb, I even can force blood flow in veins, but I cannot give him consciousness,
that mental component that makes us alife. I speak about a soul.

I think soul will be the most important component of my necronomicon, book of the dead
that is alife.

Unfortunately, there is no living creature who knows lost secrets of an antiquity.
But there is dark horror, one who called Drinker of Souls by a reason. I must find
Lady Eshval and become her servant, her apprentice what ever it costs me.

Chapter 3

Sadly, tongues and eyes are first things that become dust. And it is hard
to find corpse with fresh tongue, or buy good tongue in shop of magical
supplies. I still do not know how let them speak without tongue. I've heard
rumors about some old necromancers in Calandaryl mountain who know a lot
of old secrets. One day I should try to visit them..

Golem made of human bodies, with pieces of decayed flesh on bones, came
into my chambers and noded at the window. Strange noise and smell of a smoke
went from the window. I did not notice it till now as I was busy with my work,
my plans on creation Necronomicon, book of the dead, was slowly come true.
I've passed by a table with a corpse of naked giant laid in the center of the
pentagram drawn by blood of a virgin. Its opened chest was covered by strange,
spider like runes. Unfortunately the corpse was badly kept and did not approach
for a writing the first page of my book. But nevertheless, it was useful to
practise embalming corpses. I came up to the window, tapping with fingers
on Tirhal's skull, and looked out of it. As for a skull, I kept it as memory
about my first murder.. Sweet murder.

Bleh, these outlanders pillage my town again. And the most bad, that they dare
to destroy my favourite shop where I buy all ingredients for my work. Probably
I should service in the Tribunal and to protect city from intrusion of degrading
and wild outlanders. And money remained from my patron already come to an end...
Darn, I'm only in the beginning of my work.

Towns and order are future of civilization.. my civilization. Take a look at
any necropolis.. a lot of straight lines, order and eternal peace, with hidden
evolution under earth, evolution made my necromancy magic. Whereas outlanders preach
for returning to the nature, becoming those wild and half minded creatures we were
at the begin of the world.

Chapter 4

Gwennele Ahteli was born in sewers on Galadon city. Her parents were
beggars who spent their lifes in drinking and begging for money. It
bless or curse of Gods that such beautiful girl was born in street
mud. If you think she loved her parents.. or anyone else.. No, she
hated everyone but still she had dreams better than kill everyone
around to make them pay for her miserable life. Only miracle could
bring her up from this hell. She was waiting for this chance with
unbelievable patience.

Parents sent her to work at the streets as soon as she grew enough to
be of interest to men. Next five years were awful and chase her in
nightmares even now.. When she is standing before necromancer guild
with hands in blood of her patron.

Tirhal, her patron, one of necromancer guild, found Gwennele at the
dark alley street when he was looking for entertainment. He could not
miss such a beautiful girl. He gave her few silver coins and led her
at his house. It was her only chance to leave streets. She was doing
everything he ordered.. corpses, golems, chains.. you can not imagine.

Who knows.. was it a joke or something else.. but in few years he brought
her to guild of ancient art and began teachings. She was best amoung
students. Though some other old mages were worried that dismembering
corpses and studying of organs bring her that much pleasure.

Rain beat down on the cobbled streets of the dark alley as Gwennele
was standing before dark spectre guarding entrance to necromancer guild.
Blood trickle down by her hands.. she was smiling.

Chapter 1

What do I do? Why? What for? I feel as with each letter my soul flows away through
fingers, and remains in the letters written by blood of my victims on thier leather.

I have bent above successful embalmed corpse of an elf bard who I killed near the
Fortress of Light. I left euphoria, ecstasy, pain and expectation of something impossible.
It was strange, I never felt something like this during work with corpses found on
fields of battle or bought at graveyards. But this body was exclusive, I killed this
elf, killed accurately to avoid big damages of his body and his organs. And the main
thing.. I successfuly embalmed it, that speaks about my full understanding of vital
processes occur in elven bodies.

I have felt how strange force has captured me and pulled to a silver pen I found in
the cursed village near Arkham. Blood flew down by my fingers, my blood. I had no idea
where blood came from. I dipped the pen into heart of elven body and I have started
to write strange words at his leather. I wrote by elven blood mixed with mine.

I do not know as long it was.. But when I came to mine senses I found out, that page
of elven leather filled with the text. This text did not make sense to me.

Now, when the next page is coming out of the depths of my soul I understand, it is not
important, what exactly I write on these pages, each of them is a part me, a part of my
flesh and soul. I found out it happens only with bodies of those whom I have killed and
it is successful embalmed by myself. Bodies killed by somebody else do not approach me,
too many damages, too long time since soul left body. I'm scared! That will be when I
finish book of the dead that is alife.
