Turjuk the Druid of Wind
DescriptionStanding before you is a well-muscled giant standing twelve foot, two inches tall. His eyes are blue like the sky and his hair is white like the snows of his homelands. His skin is pale, but well hidden behind the full set of clothes he wears. His blue eyes seem to scan everywhere at once, and he appears alert and ready at all times. His strong muscles grip the hilt of an axe. He carries a large sack and walks softly for a giant. His clothes, though of all materials and sizes, are grass-stained or covered with bark and leaves. He almost looks like a walking tree. As you look closer you see...

RoleChapter 1 The Calling of the Spirit Added Thu Oct 11 21:31:53 2007 at level 31:It was in his younger days that Turjuk Greenfoot first spoke to the spirit of a wolf. She came to him like a thief in the night, silently padding up to the hot spring where he cried out to the Ancients. She looked him over and judged him. She asked him many questions about his life and what he felt called to do. Turjuk answered all that he could, and with the questioning came more knowledge, and more questions. The she-wolf found him worthy of some power though, and sent him off into the night to learn what he could.
It was from that Hot Spring that Turjuk went forth and contacted the Harbinger, Linaeren Bloodleaf. Lina as Turjuk calls him, also found him worthy to fight against the pox of civilization. From there Turjuk went forth and became a wolf in many ways, hunting the foes of the refuge. Being one of the pack seeking to return Thar- Eris, and know he wild energies of the Ancients. It is to this point that we now find Turjuk, growing in strength and knowledge. He has learned to call upon the help of the wilds, to throw thorns into the face of tyranny, and to sow seeds of fire into the hearts of her enemies. He stands now, no longer Turjuk Greenfoot of the Northern Tundra. Now he seeks to be Turjuk Greenfoot, Outlander of Thar-Eris, Defender of the Spirit.

RoleChapter 2 Destiny part 2 Added Tue Sep 11 15:01:45 2007 at level 11:NOTE: The minotaur population is currently at its max, none can be rolled now. What is your race?
or fighting and long hard walks through the wilds. He taught Turjuk about herbs and plants and what he knew about the ancients. He told Turjuk that he was an Outlander and spoke of the ways of their refuge, as he called it. It was while talking of these things that the ranger spoke to Turjuk about another of their race, one who had made a difference in the war against those who harm the wilds. He told him that is why he was up here in the frozen north, because he had heard this is where his spirit, that of an ancient arctic bear had come. He said his name had been Tjok Bjorn-Kjr and that his spirit now roamed upon the winds. Not long after this talk the ranger informed Turjuk that the time for his departure back to the fighting had come, and that he had truly taught Turjuk all that he could. He wished him well and vanished again into the woods.
A few weeks went by after his last lesson with the ranger, but Turjuk still would go out looking for him. He would use the knowledge passed on to him, and spend hours stalking, hunting, and praying.Turjuk began to spend more nights away from his home, out in the wilds with the provisions he needed to survive for days. It was while sitting near his fire that destiny truly came calling to him.Turjuk was sitting there in a half-awake, half-asleep state when out of the woods came a massive white bear. Turjuks eyes widened in fear, but he felt rooted to the ground, and could not move. The bear growled at him, perhaps thinking Turjuk was not afraid. Turjuk could only look at the bear as he thought in his mind what he should do. It was during this contemplation that the bear stopped growling and looked at him in a peculiar way, as if sizing him up. As Turjuk finally gathered his courage to stand with staff in hand the bears form began to flicker. If Turjuk had thought his eyes wide before, they were nearly coming out of his head now. Before him stood a large giant, pale gray skin covered with furs and a bears mouth surrounding his head. Turjuk couldnt believe it but this had to be the spirit of Tjok! Turjuk went to open his mouth in greeting, but could not find any words. It did not matter for Tjok looked at him and began to speak. "Turjuk Greenfoot, long have you been walking among these woods, learning the ways of the wilds. It is time for you to move on from those lessons and take up the fight for our spirits, and the spirits of all people. Take up the fight that I left and make our kin remember their freedom! Be courageous and show no mercy to those who would harm the return of Thar-Eris!" With that the spirit of Tjok transformed back into the image of a massive arctic bear and growled long and loud.As the bear turned Turjuk realized that not only was the spirit growling, but he was also growling with him.
It was his time, it was his destiny, and he would go forth.

RoleChapter 3 Destiny part 1 Added Tue Sep 11 14:38:54 2007 at level 11:As Turjuk grew and began to wander farther and farther from his home among the evergreens, his knowledge of the lands and survival grew. He found an old rusty axe out among the trees while walking. He hid the axe whenever his father was around, but secretly he began to train with it, as he thought an axe would be used to fight. He also began to pick up long branches that had fallen from trees. He made for himself a staff by cutting away the excess branches along the main length of it. It was while walking along with this staff that a most peculiar thing happened to him.
It was a day like any other in the cold northern reaches of the mountain, a bright sun was shining through the branches of the evergreens in the tundra and animals played all around him. As he was walking along a particular animal trail he noticed a pile of withered apples sitting not far from him. He was intrigued by this peculiar display and started to walk toward them. With his eyes fixed on the apples he did not notice the fine line made of vine that was sticking a few inches off the ground, nearly invisible as it blended in with the woods around it. He barely had time to grunt as his feet tripped the trigger of the snare set beneath him. As Turjuk hung there in midair dumbfounded at his poor luck, a tree nearby moved. At least, he thought it was a tree at first until he made out the outline of another giant. The giant moved out from his hiding place with a peculiar smile upon his face. "I figured Id have caught something a bit smaller." The giant began to chuckle and Turjuk seeing the humor in his words began to laugh with him. "Hold on a moment while I cut you down." Moments later Turjuk was on the ground being helped to his feet by the other giant. "Not many come out this way, why have you?" Turjuk introduced himself and told him of his strolls. "Well, I can understand not wanting to be near the cities." For hours Turjuk and the ranger, for that is what he told Turjuk he was, spoke about nature and the way of things. He encouraged Turjuk that he could learn to live as he did, but Turjuk was more interested in nature and animals. The ranger hearing Turjuks heart looked at him thoughtfully and began to tell him about the ways of druids, as he understood them. This piqued Turjuks interest and they talked some more while enjoying some fresh berries and venison steaks. After eating with the sun going down Turjuk told the ranger he had to go to his parents, but would like to meet with him again tomorrow. The ranger said he was not opposed and so they parted ways.

RoleChapter 4 Childhood Added Mon Sep 10 09:53:45 2007 at level 3:Turjuk was born in the northern mountains, among the sparse trees. His mother and father were farmers who harvested rare mushrooms found in the caves and tunnels about the frigid north. They did not care much for coin as they could barter their rare delicacies for nearly anything they needed. Their home was secluded from the rest of the cloud giant population in a nice pine tree grove. While his parents were off searching for their livelihood Turjuk would spend hours out in the grove playing among the trees. He learned to whistle like the birds and found he had an affinity and love for them. The birds were at first fearful of this giant floating among the branches, but as he offered them berries he had picked they began to be less fearful of him.
Turjuk learned to wield an axe from his father, as they would go out to chop firewood for their home. His father taught him to look for trees that were dying, and to respect the flourishing trees of the wild. They would sometimes walk for a long time to find a tree that was felled by avalanche or the strong northern winds. Turjuks parents would take him into the city from time to time when they went to barter their mushrooms, but Turjuk never was interested in playing with the other little children. They would often find him off wandering in the wilds not far from the city. They would see him chasing the squirrels, or to their surprise, the squirrels chasing him. His face beaming with radiant smiles as he played with the animals. They knew from this that Turjuks path would be a special one, not driven by the typical forces of society. They nurtured his love for the wilds, and taught him all that they could about surviving in them. They nicknamed him their little "greenfoot" because he always came back with grass stained feet.
Turjuks father, not wanting him to be ignorant of the ways of the outside world taught him what he knew of things going on outside of the northern reaches. Turjuk always became frustrated when talking about the cities where his father said very few plants grew, and the ones that were there were boxed in with stone or wood so they could not grow free. This offended Turjuk to his core, and he informed his father he wanted to do something about this. Turjuks father downplayed his anger, because he didnt want to see his boy leave and get tangled up in the world. He would find though, that it wasnt within his power to protect Turjuk from his destiny.
