|
Brinkmun Grantus the Last of the Khra'Quek, Drillmaster of Battle
DescriptionA pair of cold steel eyes meet your gaze as this monster of a man floats slowly toward you. As the massive shadow of this frame swallows you up your eyes begin to search this figure. You can see he holds himself to a higher regiment of clensing then most do. He also carries a variety of weapons on small straps that drape across his shoulders and belt. He floats with a surity and purpose that would overwhelm a common citizen.

RoleChapter 3 Strangeness Added Wed Jan 3 10:27:23 2007 at level 31:Some short while ago everyday life in the north began to change. There were new winds blowing from the south, melting the winter snows with a warmth never felt so high in the mountains. With the warmth came a new behavior with the wildlife and the animals that were to be food for the village. The birds in the skies came early from the south, but did not make their nests in the mountains, they instead flew to the north, to colder, more isolated lands. The deer also began to go mad it would seem, foaming at their mouths, becoming ragged with starvation, and flocking into the very middle of the village. The elders of the Khra'Quek assembled and talks began of these strange happenings. On the fourth day of the elders meetings, the elders felt a mighty rupture in the wilds, a scream from Thera.

RoleChapter 2 Brinkmuns path 1 Added Fri Feb 9 18:58:30 2007 at level 51:During the times of the first rupture throughout the lands, the elders of the village did not know what to expect, but there was a feeling of great sorrow. As the cries of the world began to grow, to echo, it was decided that there would be one sent down from the isolated hills into the lands of the common folk to discover why the lands shreik. This man would be the most admired warrior from the tribe, imbued with a strength and purpose not seen in ages. A man driven.
As it was decreed by the elders, A man was chosen from the village to venture out and discover what held the lands in such chaos. He was the best hunter in the village, strong as a bear with the eyes of a hawk. His name was Grantus. Grantus left amongst cheers of his tribe and shrieks of the world. He ventured far down from the mountains to a town called Udgaard. Once there he tried to blend in as much as any giant can and listen in the taverns and streets. After spending weeks in the filth of civilization our giant found he had an answer for his village, a method to the madness that scourged the lands, near and far. He returned to the village and told the elders of the rumors and whispers he had heard. He spoke of a great battle in which warriors fought and died, and a gloomy man clad in robes and spoke in tongues not heard since the dawn of time. This was the one responsible for the shrieks and the sorrow. As the elders spoke with Grantus, he sat and pulled out some bread he had aquired whilst in the midst of civilization. They shared bread and talked for what seemed like days, then the meeting ended and all went to their rest. Upon the dawn of the next day life in the village seemed normal, aside from a mild illness that was affecting most everyone
Brinkmun slowly floated down the middle of an open valley, scouring his surroundings for prey. He had not seen or heard anything of his tribe in two weeks, but such is the case for those that roam. Armed with a short knife and a long blunt hammer he was seaching for a sheep heard he felt rumble down the valley during the night. As he came to a small clearing he saw what he had set out for, A heard of nearly 100 sheep were drinking from a small pond. He slowly moved in for the kill, and with a quick slash of his knife and a swing of his long hammer, he had felled four of the sheep. He then set out for the village, dragging the sheep on a sheep hide stretched between two logs. When Brinkmun arrived, he was shocked....

#16218, "Brinkmun's Role Chapter 1"
|
RoleChapter 1 Brinkmuns path 2 Added Mon Feb 19 11:39:46 2007 at level 51:"Fire," he screamed as he through down his load and ran towards the well set in the village square. Just as he began to fill the bucket, he heard a voice call out, "NO!" He managed to catch a glimpse of Grantus as he ran to stop Brinkmun. "We are not to put out the fires Brinkmun, this place is cursed," Grantus said quickly, "It was set forth by the elders." Upon the grounds a fine white powder was spread about. Brinkmun knew what was to happen. He slowly backed away, tears in his eyes, as he watched the fires burn the town, purify the bodies of those the fire consumed. As he watched the flames dance he didn't utter a word, standing there next to a frail Grantus. As the flames died down and burned to ash, Brinkmun heard the story. It seems Grantus had a follower on his return from the city. A small mouse had been hiding in his pack, feasting on the breads he had brought back. There is no telling what kind of plague infested disease this vermin carried, but as the townsfolk ate, they grew ill. Slowly it all unfolded as Brinkmun listened. He knew that to survive, those infected had to be burned, he knew the rituals of the white powder used to make the flamed burn hot and pure, what he did not understand is how Grantus survived as long as he did.
As the night slowly grew into twilight, Brinkmun head the story of how the elders watched the whole of the village become sick and how they had said all infected would be purified in the interests of preserving the tribe. The problem being that all but one seemed to now be infected. Grantus said his sole mission was to tell Brinkmun of what had happened and tell him the very cause of the shrieks of thera. It was determined that the magi had begun to tear the delicate veil asunder from the lands. The cycles of every living thing in turn would begin to....differ from what one could call normal. Grantus said it was his wish that Brinkmun move forth from the tribe and fight to ressurect the veil to its once powerful form. And with that, Grantus slowly nodded and said, "I know your will is strong enough for this endeavor, I shall guide you from the stars kin." Brinkmun quickly searched for words but before he could utter a sound, Grantus walked straight into the fires and fell to his death without uttering a sound.
