Chapter 1

The field of battle returns, arials strewn about and Udgaard soldiers as
well. In the center of the field the arial Captain sits his steed, taking
down foes left and right with his axe. The banner of the silver talon rides
high and proud above him. You notice off from the field of battle a group of
black clad arials stands away from the fight:

"Bannerman, why do the anti-paladins not engage in the battle?" "I do
not know Captain, they appear to be waiting for something." "We do not
need them anyway, the tide is turning in our favor! Forward the Silver
Talon!" Other soldiers around the Captain take up the warcry "For the
Golden Eagle!" "We are the Emperors elite for a reason Bannerman, we
dont need those sorcerers!" Just as the Captain utters those words
fireballs streak into the midst of the fighting. Soldiers around the Captain
go down, and he looks about himself. "Those fireballs didnt come from
their magi, they are coming from ours!" yells the Captain. "Rally to me
Silver Talon, To me! We are betrayed by our own kin!"Just then the arial
anti-paladins rush into the battle, hacking and slashing at their own kin.
Their captain mercilessly casting lighting against his own brethren. Captain
Berylplume is knocked from his own horse but continues to fight, axe in one
hand, and now a mace in the other. Anti-paladins and foes alike fall at his
feet, his bloodlust for their betrayal overwhelming his senses.

Yet for all his effort, lightning streaks from the hands of his betrayer and
smites him to the ground. "You are undone Captain Berylplume" states the
captain of the arial sorcerers. "We intercepted your rider to the Emperor
on his way to the city, he did not die well." A measure of hope fades from
the captains eyes despite the rage in his heart. "Why Taki, why?"
"Because they can offer us more than our own ever could, because they know
the true power of the lands!" "Someday, somehow, you will be destroyed
for this, and all your filthy magi" screams Captain Berylplume through his
pain. "You will die slowly for the threat, and for your arrogance"
states Taki as he drives his sword through Sakas gut. The magi leave from
the field of battle, and head off toward their new home. As the last life
seeps out of the Captain a tear falls from his eye he says "My son" and
with that expires to the azure fields.

The scene shifts back to the arial home. A doctor has now arrived and is
aiding Ceryl with the birth. The contractions seem to rise and fall in an
odd manner with your memory of the battle. The worst of them coming just as
the Captain was struck with lightning. With a final cry Ceryl pushes and
your mind is tickled with memory as the baby boy comes forth. His first cry
erupting from his mouth as the final cry of his father rolls out across the
field of battle.

"My son, Dejebi, we shall call him Dejebi, that was Sakas fathers
name. He was a fierce warrior as well.I think Saka will be happy."

The scene shifts back one more time to the field of battle. Movement can be
seen beneath a few of the glorious dead. It is the Bannerman, he is injured,
but not dead. He knew the betrayal had occurred and when he was pinned below
fallen comrades he remained there as if dead himself.

As he frees his injured leg from the pile he looks

Chapter 2

A vision comes upon you as you sleep and you are transported to a field of
battle:

"Forward the Golden Eagle!" shouts a soldier in the front, "The Silver
Talon shall advance at a walk!" yells their captain on his steed behind
them. Other similar cries can be heard all along the front line of the arial
army as they line up against the forces of Udgaard that have come into their
mountains. "Ready spears! The Silver Talon shall advance at a trot!"
yells the captain as the first wave of soldiers from Udgaard in their black
mail moves out to fight them. As the line moves forward Saka Berylplume
looks about his troops, his Bannerman at his side. The Bannerman turns to
him and says "Captain, they have Anti-Paladins behind them!" Saka turns
to him and states "Yes lad, but we must give the Emperor time to get here
with the other talons."


As the fighting begins your attention turns to another vision in your head:

"Elaiye it is time" says a stunning arial to her handmaiden "I fear
this little one will not wait until his father returns from battle."
"Call the doctor Elaiye, my water has broken." The young mother rubs her
large belly in an effort to calm the little one trying to come out. "He
will be strong, like his father Elaiye." The handmaiden turns to another
servant and directs him to get the doctor. "Im sure he will be Mistress
Berylplume, and fierce like his father as well." Just as the handmaiden
says this Ceryl Berylplume a contraction grips her. As the pain subsides she
smiles and says, "If this is any indication, he surely will be!"

The picture in your mind fades to the night before the battle:

"Captain, what are you thinking of," asks the Bannerman standing next to
Saka. Saka lifts his head and looks at him. "Im thinking of my wife
who I left in the last days of her pregnancy, and Im praying that I make
it home to see her again." The Bannerman turns to him with concern in his
eyes but claps him on the shoulder. "The Silver Talon shall not falter
Captain, we will see you home. The anti-paladins have come from the city to
counteract Udgaards forces." Saka looks around himself warily at the tents
just off from his talons own. "I would not put stock or faith in them
lad, it is our minds and hearts that will win the day, not their sorcery!"
"Aye captain, but it will be good to have them behind us." "I hope so
lad, I hope so."
