Chapter 1

Thoric has come quite a ways since being inducted into the Brigade. He has
had issues with the Law, specifically the blood tribunal. After some very
enlightening discussions with Yvalthras, he believes hes come to terms
with it, though doing what is right to Thoric will always be more important
than any Tribunal Law.

He has tried to unite and teach his fellows of the Fortress, though he feels
like he personally failed when Grillast took his own life. Still, he has
resolved to redouble his efforts in this area. One of the main ways he tries
to do this is to speak with as many of the seekers of the Fortress as he can.

After speaking with Corrlan again, he resolved to act on his earlier desires
and address the populous of Thera. He prays that his words will have some
small effect. While older, Thoric realizes how much ground he has yet to
cover. He only hopes he continues to do right for Corrlaan, the Fortress and
the Light.

Chapter 2

Perhaps the most meaningful week in his life has come to pass for Thoric.
Firstly, and to Thoric most importantly, he found Corrlaan, and was able to
converse with the object of his worship within the sacred halls of the temple
Thoric could only dream existed. Though the Lord of Archons seemed a being
of few words, it was perfect for Thoric, hearing that Corrlaan has indeed
been watching over him, that he has not erred in his ways, and that he has
done some right in the name of his lord. This event filled Thoric with a new
confidence and sense of righteousness. Though he still hated the blood he
had to shed, and still walked a grim path, Thoric now knew beyond any doubt
that he had chosen the correct path. It might be said that this day, he
truly came to terms with his fears.

Secondly, and perhaps more meaningfully to those around him, Thoric completed
his squiredom and became a full-fledged Knight of the Holy Brigade. The
words of the Lady Jaguar honored Thoric, and he felt the weight of
responsibility on his shoulders just a bit more. He knows there are few full
Knights of late, so he strives to lead the squires and other fellows by
actions, not words. He is too humble to think himself supremely
knowledgeable in the ways of war, but he has resolved to do his best to guide
his brothers of the Fortress to triumph, always praising the name of Corrlaan
in his efforts.

Chapter 3

Much has happened to Thoric since becoming a squire. He has found his days
filled with more violence, which takes a toll on him. He understands the
necessity, and believes fervently that he is doing the best he can to deliver
Corrlaans mercy unto the souls of the damned. But each time he kills, he
is harkened back to his youth, when such would never have bothered him, and
he shudders.

Thoric has also begun to formulate his ideas for forming a Church. He
believes that such a public group might draw more followers to the ways of
Corrlaan. Having been blessed by the gods above with the ability to send
scrolls to all, Thoric is spending much time debating what to write, and how
best to use his words in service of Corrlaan and the light.

Chapter 4

Though he chose to follow the Father of Archons over the Spearmaiden or the
Skyborn, Thoric could never be accused of being soft. Though his brother
monks looked on his zeal with admiration, they chuckled at his growing
attempts to convert the members of other sects.Realizing he would make no
progress here, Thoric begged a horse and funds to make a mission, pledging to
aid those who were lesser fortunate. He was granted such and set out.

He lived a solitary life. He shunned company, preferring to concentrate on
his work. While he did a great deal of help, healing some sick, he also
worked his hardest to convert others to his faith.

His brand of Corrlaanism began to take on its own flavor. He believed that
the Lord of Archons had done so much for the people of Thera that he deserved
eternal respect. Thoric believes that to use the name of Corrlaan is
disrespectful. As such he will never refer to him by name, save perhaps to
Corrlaan himself. Instead he will refer to him as the Father, short for
Father of archons, or the Lord, short for Lord of Mercy.

He will also insist those in his presence do the same. He has begun to pen
all his thoughts into a heavy, leather tome, which he will never let out of
his sight. While not cruel by any means, he is harsh in his convictions. He
believes his faith requires his utmost dedication, and has vowed celibacy.
He has vowed to dedicate his life towards granting the souls of the damned
the mercy of the Light, and to help those who are still innocent. He is a
zealot.

Chapter 5

Born in Silverpine, northeast of Voralian, Thoric was no stranger to the ways
of light and goodness. In fact, he grew ever bored of it, tired by the
endless preachings of self-pious men.

The son of a middling family, Thoric soon fell in with a gang of local thugs.
petty theft grew to assault, assault to extortion. The band grew
to encompass some half-orcs, even duergar, but Thoric didnt care. Soon,
even his middle family cohorts left, tired of the company, eager to get on
with their lives. Thoric stayed, pleased by his abilities to bully and take
what he wanted.

The highwaymen were quartered in a cave. Eventually, they became too great a
nuisance to ignore, and a band of peacekeepers, led by a paladin, came to
dismantle things. A fight broke out and the band scattered, yet Thoric had
his left shoulder shattered. Never again would he be able to wield his sword
and dirk as he once favored, his dexterity gone. As he lie there, waiting to
be dispatched, the paladin came upon him.

Mildly surprised to find a human in the band, the paladin began to speak. He
asked Thoric what had led him down this path, this path that had so damned
his soul. As the words sunk in, Thoric began to realize his internal peril.
The words bit deeply into him, his remorse growing and growing.The paladin
had hoped for this, for he believed there was a chance for redemption, and
offered young Thoric a chance.

He gave him an opportunity to relocate an isolated monastery, one teaching
the precipts of the light. Thoric seized on the chance, realizing he might
have another shot at a real life. Though it might sound clich, the
kindness and mercy showed to him really did have a life-changing effect on
him. He was never terribly bright, and he believed the words of mercy, or
redemption, and embraced them.

Though the monestary had followers of every member of the pantheon of the
light, Thoric never forgot the mercy shown to him. He vowed to dedicate his
life to the god of mercy, eternal Corrlaan, that he might make amends for his
vile ways.
