Chapter 1

Today I Joined a brotherhood dedicated to the protection of the innocent.
Ironically it is currently named the Slayers, though there is a meeting
already scheduled at which we will likely vote on a new name. The
decision to take the blood oath to always defend the innocent was the
choice I ever made, since it is an oath I had made to myself many years
ago. I am proud to be one of the first members, since the decisions made
during its infancy will determine what it will become and if it will
endure. I am happy for the opportunity to contribute to both.

Chapter 2

Throughout my years, No one has been as inspirational as my close friend
Lyug. When I first met him gambling at the Inn of the Eternal Star, and
he asked me if I knew a good way to make money, I was a bit wary of leading
him into the sewer alone. I soon learned that no kinder nor devoted soul
existed in all of Thera. I could not believe it when he told me I was one
of his only friends. Apparently others were even more wary of the cloud
giant warrior I had been. We became fast friends, as I taught him all I knew
about the world. I guess since he intimidated his peers, many of his friends
were older. One day I found him in the Inn, chugging drink after drink.
He told me how in the last week, three of his closest friends and passed to
the next life. That day I learned the true meaning of devotion. As I sat
drinking with him. He told me how each had affected him, and wondered how
best to honor their memory. He decided upon doing as they did, helping young
Therans, who were in need of guidance.
That day, as I listened to stories of their lives through his tears, I was
humbled by his love for them.
No one has inspired me to help others the way Lyug did that day, and he has
continued to do so each time we meet.

Chapter 3

Kagi and I were slain by Valthorn while traveling though
the frozen wastes. When I asked why he hunted me, one who only wished to
to spread Rayihn's love of the land and its people. He said he meant only to
defend the honor of a fellow druid, whom my Kagi had apparently insulted.
When Valthorn realized that we shared many ideals and goals, he guarded my
corpse until I returned. And once I regained my equipment, he offered me
his life. As I could not take his life in good conscience, I asked that he
forgive Kagi if Kagi would in turn apologize for his poor manners.
Valthorn seemed quite interested in how I planed to spread love for Thera
itself by cultivating love among its inhabitants.
In parting, he said he had to pray to Lady Rayihn for forgiveness, and
I promised to tell him more about how I hoped to catalyze love throughout
Thera.
I never saw Valthorn again. I only heard of his passing.
If he is representative of her followers, then Rayihn is truly my goddess.

Chapter 4

I was born and raised in the Arial City. My father Mallac served as a guard
on the battlements. He was interested only in protecting the people, not in
the politics of the guard, so he never advance within the ranks or make much
money. So, my mother, Lea, collected herbs and reagents for sale to druids
and apothecaries to make ends meet. But this suited her love of exploration.
They each loved the traits of the other, and when I was born, they imparted
them to me, along with their love for the people, the land and each other.
Before I learned to fly, my daycare was the guard tower, and the guards took
turns watching me, and I watched them train. My father was not ambitious,
but, he was very well liked. Therefore so was I.
As soon as my wings were strong enough my mother began taking me with
her on some of her trips. Between the tower and the wilds, I learned the
even entered my mind.
I was with my father in the tower when the harpies attacked. Everyone who
could joined in defense of the city, as did I. I fought with both force and
stealth; weapons and claws. Only when it was over did I realize what we
had accomplished; the dead harpy warriors exceeded our total population
several times. There were even demon corpses among them.
I realized that if love could hold a family together, and save a city.
Why could it not save all of Thera.
