Chapter 1

He had been with the Nexans for many years now, fighting by their side and aiding in the stuggle
to keep Thera in balance. The felar found that albeit many times life had been rough, he liked it
here. He never knew what the next morning would bring but he never hesitated at the break of dawn
or the dusk of evening, his duty was clear.
The only thing he sometimes missed was his family, he had not seen his parents, brother or sister for
a long time now and he often thought of them while out wandering the world. One day, he vowed to see
them again, for it was them that he had to thank for everything. Without them... he wouldn't be what
he was today. A proud defender of his pack against the rigors of the surrounding world.

Chapter 2

Admittedly, he had been hesitant at first, but seeing no other option the young felar approached
the Divine fela, Iunna, and asked for her help. Instead of being smitten or talked back to, she'd
helped him get into the great library, past the uppity librarian guarding it. He knew to be wary
of things he didn't understand but this time curiosity was his leading star.
Poring over the text contained all over the great hall he had found several stories that told of
his own people and ancestry, stories that struck chord after resonating chord inside him. The
tale of the Dim Time had the greatest impact of all and it took him a few re-reads and several
minutes of thinking before it finally sunk in completely.

That night he went to slumber with many a new thing spinning in his head, about magic, about the
felar race, about himself and where he fit in. He awoke the next morning with a new sense of...
he couldn't place it at first, contentment? Yes, that was probably it. He had once been wrought
by magic wielded by powerful magicians who hadn't contemplated all the consequences. He was
grateful in one sense, how could he not be? The magic was what had created him. But on the other
side of the coin was a crueler image depicted. A picture of forces wielded without thought or
wisdom. It would be his task to see to that the weavers of the arcane did their arts in moderation
as well as protecting them. A very tender balance to uphold. He knew it'd be a precarious ledge to
cross but he hoped he'd make it across by following his wits and conscience.

Chapter 3

He had been with his small band of scouts for a year or two now, he couldn't remember exactly
as the days had just blended together in a great haze. He had a confident feeling that what he
did for once mattered to those around him and he had seen a fair share of small scuffles.
Throughout these conflicts he had learned a bit of diplomacy as well, often it was better to
stand impartial and let two sides duke it out rather than interfere. But he also knew that
sometimes this would not be beneficial to either side and he and the others would have to
intervene.
He had been batted on his nose a few times in the dealings of the band but he accepted that
without much thought - it was something that he knew came with the job. A job he was delighted
to do even if he came bruised and battered from the patrols.

Chapter 4

Erasifh didn't complain much about his place in the world, even though he sometimes felt
that the world hadn't been all too fair on him. He grew up as a middle child with an older
brother and younger sister in Blackclaw village. He didn't hold any grudge towards his
loving parents but he couldn't help sometimes feeling left out when his older brother was
celebrated for being accepted into the village guard and his sister showered with attention
just because she happened to be young and cute.
Rather than spending much time around the house after his chores were done, he often found
himself roaming around the village and talking to some of his friends. One of these was a
lieutenant in the guard whom early on assessed that young Erasifh weren't for their band due
to his less than muscular form.
This only served to have the young felar grow more and more desperate to prove his worth
to those around him as time passed him by. An opportunity for this opened one day when he was
just lounging about and he was approached by a figure he had seen many times but never been
able to place or find out the name of. They struck out on a walk around the village and when
they got back a few hours later young Erasifh walked with a new spring in his step and pride
gleaming in his eyes, he was now an apprentice to the band of scouts that protected Blackclaw
from the shadows.
