Chapter 1

Well, I haven't paused to reflect much on what is going on in my
life lately. Let's see if I can sum up how I got where I am now.
First, I was new to the tribunal, having waited until around 40
years of age before gaining entrance. I was dedicated, and the
constant hostilities with the Battle Ragers made it interesting.
I was outmatched in most fights, but was able to pick and choose
my battles and avoid alot of unnecessary pain.
Then, I spent alot of time working my way up the ranks of Tribunal.
By the time I was a provincial magistrate, we had become embroiled
in hostilities with the Empire which drug on until I took the
reigns as the Provost. They pecked away at me relentlessly until
finally I gave the other magistrates permission to kill all
imperials at will. It was at this time that the Imperial threat
just vanished, and they faded into obscurity.
My first official decree against the Empire as the Provost was
withdrawn when we were unable to find any Imperials to hunt. I
suppose the bad decisions they made up until that point caused
their organization to implode upon itself, it remains to be seen
whether or not they will recover any time soon.
Now, this brings me to where I am now, often alone against out-
landers like Krynna and Dizrug. I frequently find myself hopelessly
outmatched when making my 5-10 retrieval attempts per day against
the refuge amid a morass of snares and deadfalls, having to try to
stand up against repeated lashings, bearcharges, entwining attempts,
and blows to my cranial.
I am glad this war with the outlanders is not mine personally, since
I really have no chance to do much but die gracefully when I'm
caught out of the shadows. My appeal to Lord Linolaques for some
kind of divine insight or intervention to help stem my repeated
slaughterings was largely dismissed, although he did help me remember
that as the Provost, I should be bolstering the Blood Tribunal
itself and not attempting to take on these matchups alone at such
bad odds. The other magistrates fare much better in such matchups
than I do, and thankfully are able to lend a hand when it is
needed most. Let's face it, at 65 years of age, I am not the
imposing force I once deluded myself into thinking I was.
As an aside, I have developed an intense dislike of both Dizrug
and Krynna personally, and need to be certain not to let that
allow me to keep running into their traps so foolishly. I intend
to outlive both of them, but I need to make certain that I have
some semblance of health left so I may one day dance upon their
graves.

Chapter 2

With the ascension of Lord Linolaques, the Executioner has chosen
me to fill the role of a Provincial Magistrate. While I may not
have appeared outwardly excited or ambitious on this promotion,
inside I was scheming of ways to make up for earlier frustrations
inflicted upon me. Too often I had been forced to sit back and do
nothing from the shadows as murderers rampaged in the cities, and
now I would be in a position to make some harsh examples of them.
Also, it seems like the old troublemakers that once plagued the
cities, namely the Outlanders and Battleragers, are no longer a
serious factor these days. More and more frequently the Nexus and
Scions have been rising up and taking a swipe at the peace and
security of the provinces. I am beginning to rethink my stance of
neutrality against them.

Chapter 3

I have managed to keep the Hamsah guild under my strict control
during my brief relocation as a Galadon Magistrate. I feared
Seffar or another of the young upstarts would try to out-donate
me while I was stationed so far away, forcing a coup, but my
underlings seem to be lacking in any such ambitions. I will
likely still need to eject Seffar, however, since he is becoming
a direct threat to me in other ways. I will see if I can get him
to use his influence over the chasm to benefit me first, for as
long as that lasts.

Chapter 4

about the good old days, but I am starting to get
up there in years. At 37 years old, I have led a rather
unpredictable, unconventional life. From my humble beginnings
as a young con artist that couldn't get anybody to trust me
to my less-than-memorable stint with burglary that ended up
with me getting caught and sentenced to 3 years servitude on
my first attempt, I have finally settled into a comfortable niche.

The Tribunal was always my goal in life, although I wasn't
exactly a star candidate. I needed to wait awhile until my
past sins could be forgotten before making my intentions known
to the Provost, but I have managed to gain the trust of the
other lawmen so far. The Hamsah Mu'tazz guild was also a
natural fit for me, once I found ways of hindering or...
eliminating those who might overtake me for leadership. That
is behind me now, and once I clear up a certain loose end,
then there will be no dissent or witnesses to come back and
haunt me. That reminds me... gotta recruit some new members,
as the old ones have all mysteriously died off. The floors
need sweeping too, so much to do.
