Chapter 1

The history behind Narses dates back thousands of years, to the Dawn
of the Empire itself. His bloodline is sacred as he descends from
Emperor Llilitao himself. Emperor Llilitao was an ingenious and stubborn
ruler, with no tolerance of foolishness. His reign was cut short, slain
and overthrown by an ambitious, and as history now writes, successful
shaman, Emperor Kah. Llilitao was rumored to have had a relationship
during his time as Emperor, though as time passed, it became more of
a myth than fact. However fact it was; he was father to a daughter
who was smuggled out of the Palace and taken to be raised by the
Emperor's closest friend, Ormus. Throughout the years this secret was
kept and as fate would have it, Narses is the sole descendant of this
royal bloodline. Narses is ignorant of this important fact.

Narses' birth was unusual. He was born a triplet. His two brothers and
mother did not survive the ordeal. His father had died prior to him
being born, and as such, he was taken into care by a local orphanage.
From a young age he started receiving visions, hearing strange voices
calling out to him in his dreams. He thought nothing of it. But as time
passed, they became more frequent, more visual and audible. In trying
to decipher what was happening to him he came to the idea that he
was being contacted, guided by the spirits of his dead brothers. To
this day he still believes this. The spirit is that of Emperor Llilitao. In
an undead attempt at restoring his blood to the throne, Narses is guided
by the ancient spirit. Narses, believing that he must follow the advice
from his brothers, does precisely what is inferred to him in his sleep.

In no uncertain terms, he was shown that he must become the Dread
Lord.
