Chapter 4

The ancient crone moaned in pain as she pushed her feet against the birthing
straps on the stone slab. Her withered skin shuddered with each contraction
as she pushed her bony hands down upon her swollen stomach. Her grey hair
spilled out over the rocks and dripped a stagnant smelling sweat upon the
cavern floor. Pools of water reflected the torch light and illuminated the
chamber in an eery glow. Three small spectators watched the spectacle in
revulsion from the side of the slab.

Theodon Diamondreaver, whispered a prayer as he shuddered in horror. He
watched the sea witch contract and labor as she struggled with the birthing.
In his decades service as Burrow-warden of the Undersea Pass, nothing had
shocked him more that seeing what was taking place now in this small chamber.
had been his councils choosing to come to the witchs aid and he had
regretted every moment since the process had begun. The crone was the last
of the Sea Witches of the Undersea. For generations she had guarded the
northern pass. She had come to the Svirfneblin council and explained that
her time was drawing to an end and she needed another to train in the ancient
ways. The Witches of the Undersea were feared. Unmatched in their ferocity
and magical power, they were seldom seen. They guarded the svirfneblin
against the worst threats that threatened the Underdark. The deep pits of
the Undersea spawned terrible things. Abominations from the hells, aboleths,
and other races of darkness were kept at bay through their work. Generations
passed and many forgot of their existence. They lived in insolation and were
seldom seen. That one had come to the king for help was unheard of. The
king was unable to find a suitable apprentice and the witch had claimed that
magic was failing in the bloodlines of the tiny people. She suggested that
she needed a supple mate in order to carry forth her bloodline. Theodon was
chosen by the king. He was drugged and led away to the witch and had no
memory of the process. And now, seven months later, he was here to watch as
his child was being born by this creature.

The crone growled as she looked over at the spectators. A gout of blood
spurt from between her hairy legs as she struggled with the pain of the
birthing. Howling in pain, she pushed again and felt the child slid from her
ravaged womb. The blood poured from her damaged body and begin to pool at
the base of the slab. The child began to scream as she turned her head back
to the stunned gathering. "Take her, you fools.....", she whispered as she
faded into deaths embrace.

Deeag is known as the Witch of the Waves. She is devoted to exploration and
mastery of the oceans. Her life focus is to watch the deep pools and seas
for danger and to destroy it. She assesses threats to magic and to her
people and deals out judgement. She does not relate well to others and
struggles with social graces. She is however fearless and devoted to
protecting svirfneblin interests. Her sphere of influence is magic and she
will become one of the elite mages of the svirfneblin council.

Chapter 1

Deeag is trying to find the Horn of Fate.
She realizes that villagers also want to obtain it and is determined
to find it before they do. SHe believes fates are in motion and that the Fourth
Age of Man is nearing. She has discovered that the Horn must be blown inside
the chaos rift in order to stabilize the magic there. She has spoken to
Nydeikon of the Nexus and learned that it is possible for a mage and warrior
to enter the rift under the Nexus bond. However being that Nexus magic
has departed from THera, Deeag now searches for three relics that Nydeikon
hinted at. Nol, Thyrrien, and Morgath are long dead gods and Deeag
was informed that there might be relics left over relating to each of them
These relics are rumored to contain Nexus magic which would enable a bonding.
Deeag believes she has obtained one of these relics, pertaining to Thyrrien.
AN ancient figurine was obtained from the saughin king. The king
had stolen the figurine from one of Deeag's sea dragon allies.
Deeag now awaits instruction from her deity as she continues to work towards
strengthening magic. She waits patiently for the final appearance of the Horn
and is ready to act swiftly.

Chapter 2

Deeag has discovered that Twist, the deity of Magic has awoken once again.
Her initial attempts to speak with him were confusion but she has learned
that the unstability of magic is making him 'scattered' in insight.
Twist's essence was reformed and he is not quite himself yet.
Deeag is working to make her lord stronger and to help the COnsortium.
She has tried to involve herself in the strange events which have been
taking place across Thera as mana stabilizes.
Her main priority is the advancement of magic and protection of her people.
Her allies are growing and they have come to respect this old hag of the sea.

Chapter 3

Deeag has developed into a Sea Hag and utilizes devining powers of her knucklebone
cup. She continues to ready herself for war and is training hard to take
her place as guardian. Magic is her life and she is fast becoming a full witch.
She hates the enemies of her people. Drow, Duergar, and anything that threatens her
patrols. The Empire has been added to her list because of their attempts to
subvert her. She has developed a strong friendship with a
storm giant named Arngrim. They banter and generally aid each other in the waves.
He was helped her people and in return she has promised to aid him in the future.
Otherwise she prepares her body for the war agaisnt her enemies.
