Dhaezym Viith the Kisser of Divine Feet, Imperial High Priest
DescriptionA slim man enters your vision, holding what seems to be ceremonial robes tightly around his body. His hair is shoulder-length and fairly well kept, yet frays at the edges and isn't the brilliant gold it had been in days past. His eyes, sparkling a brilliant green, seem tired, newly noticable crow's feet lining their edges. As a whole, his face begins to show signs of age, and is set into a permenant grin. It is odd, that grin. Slightly pointed ears are the only noticable way to tell of his parentage, and as you look closer, you notice that...

Sat Jul 15 18:30:21 2006 by 'An Immortal' at level 28 (28 hrs): An Immortal added 1000 exp for: A nice little roleplaying session regarding his father. I made up a mysterious half-brother..possibly.
Mon Jul 17 21:44:19 2006 by 'Grurk' at level 33 (36 hrs): Demoted for sitting on his butt complaining about not being promoted, while a Blade was out gathering back the Codex, and generally being disrespectful.
Mon Jul 17 21:50:35 2006 by 'Grurk' at level 33 (36 hrs): On a side note, it was all good RP, and still give him points for sticking to his Khasocentric faith.
Wed Jul 19 06:11:55 2006 by 'Khasotholas' at level 34 (39 hrs): Promoted for good Imperial roleplay with Blughurn and a potential oath.
Wed Jul 19 06:20:18 2006 by 'Khasotholas' at level 34 (39 hrs): He's very pro Khas, and now sort of anti-Grurk. Should make for some fun times!
Wed Jul 19 06:26:01 2006 by 'An Immortal' at level 35 (39 hrs): An Immortal added 1200 exp for: To rank, because he's mean to other Imperials and I like that.
Sat Jul 22 20:12:08 2006 by 'An Immortal' at level 37 (48 hrs): An Immortal added 4000 exp for: For being a good Divine, and sticking to his guns against me. (Grurk) Even though I may have to seriously hurt him someday.
Mon Jul 24 22:30:59 2006 by 'Grurk' at level 37 (55 hrs): Needs a demotion or serious smack down for attacking Rhaika in Hamsah. Prayed afterwards he knew he did wrong. I was afk at the time.

Sat Jul 29 06:04:11 2006 by 'Khasotholas' at level 37 (61 hrs): Very good roleplaying, walks a fine line between excellent priest/divine roleplay and disorderly Imperial behavior.

RoleChapter 9 Ethos motivations Added Sat Jul 8 15:49:10 2006 at level 1:Dhaezym at times has been fascinated by death. Once, when he was eight, an orc was slain on his families grounds. Dhaezym sat with the orc as it lay dying, silently watching as the light slowly dimmed from its' manic, blood-stained eyes. Death fascinated him, so much so that he began pursuing the hobby of medicine. Perhaps once drawn to the study of blood, Dhaezym instead focused on the mental willpower one needed to stave off infection, along with finding ways to prolong the bodies fighting off of infections. Before he could progress further in his studies, he had the teacher slain for telling Dhaezym that the noblechild could not let a patient die to see 'if he could catch his soul'. Perhaps Dhaezym had heard stories of a terrible giant of stygian darkness that had laid waste to the Fortress weeks earlier, perhaps he was just curious. After that incident, Dhaezym's noble grounds were ravaged by the combined efforts of the wild creatures of the Refuge and the Dark Mages of the Chasm. Most of his fathers' fortune was lost and his father himself disappeared again shortly thereafter. Dhaezym, looking around at the destruction of his toy room, a room that was the size of a tavern, began to wail uncontrollably. He was nine. It was in that moment Dhaezym vowed that nothing would ever be taken from him again.

#11876, "Dhaezym's Role Chapter 8"
|
RoleChapter 8 Character motivations Added Sat Jul 8 15:51:10 2006 at level 1:Dhaezym is a extremely wanting person. His desire to control, to build, to order has been honed through years of nobility. Above all, Dhaezym seeks power, for he knows the more power he can get his hands on, the more people will, as the barbarians say it, 'Kiss his arse.'. It is his goal to build or join an organization that offers this power, for he has tired of the game he plays as a nobleman. Eventually, when the time is right, he hopes to grab all the power for himself, but he realises the value of timing. He plans to gain acceptance by the Hornet Lord, perhaps enter himself into bondage with this Dark God, but his desire to become a follower of Khasotholas is firmly entrenched in his being.

|
RoleChapter 7 Character History (Part 1) Added Sat Jul 8 15:54:51 2006 at level 1:Born to noble parentage, Dhaezym Utanai Viith lived a pampered life, replete with simple servants and the finest playthings a child could want. His parents were a kind-hearted sort, his father a rather dashing nobleman who had earned his fortune selling ale to several clients, even those as far away as Seantryn Modan. In his dealing with the local taverns and such, Gregor Uthral gained a sort of infamy as a router of brigands, knowing their moves to capture wagons of ale before, it seemed, even they did. Parlaying his newfound wealth and stature, Gregor joined the ranks of the peacekeepers of newly built Voralian City, fighting in the defense of the city numerous times, earning high marks for bravery and military cunning. The Lords of the Fortress of the Light even named him an honorary captain for his battle against the onslaught of an orc and zombie horde that had plagued the city. After these events, Gregor disappeared.
It was theorized that Gregor was captured by cloaked and shadowy mages, or drawn into service to fight on Kiadana against the vile giants that burned in the Mountain, or perhaps slaying the legendary five-headed dragon that lay somewhere in the West. Whatever Gregor was doing in that time, one thing is certain. The real Gregor Uthral had died over twenty years earlier.

|
RoleChapter 6 Character motivation Part 2 Added Sun Jul 16 03:40:34 2006 at level 31:Dhaezym has mellowed somewhat as he ages. More important than ever to him is to build up the power of the Empire. He feels compelled to create an Order, with him in charge of course, to show his Lord Khasotholas of his devotion. Less prone to outbursts, and strong emotions, Dhaezym has begun to mature, and become more wise about the ways of the World. He has taken the oath from a Divine named Garrook, and already has begun to bring many oaths strength in their guild mainly from Dhaezym's company. However, Dhaezym has been unable to reach his Lord for over ten years. At times, he has felt the hand of the Hornet Lord in his actions, and perhaps even watching over him. The bandits of the Refuge have attempted to set many traps to slay Dhaezym, but through the Grace of Khasotholas, all but one of these attempts have been failures. As he ages, Dhaezym will continue to become more methodical, and more insistant on strengthening the Empire. He plots for the place of High Priest on a daily basis, even as one as lowly as an oath. To Dhaezym, it would be tantamount to failing Khasotholas if he was not one day Emperor, and much of his mechinations will be to that end.

|
RoleChapter 5 Character History Part 2 Added Sun Jul 16 03:43:26 2006 at level 31:So it was thus that Dhaezym had all his toys stolen. Eventually, in time, his father rebuilt the family estate and replaced many of Dhaezym toys. However, odd tidings often meant his father was gone, dissappeared to some unknown location. More often than not, in Dhaezym's formative years he was raised by his mother. A stunning drow woman, she had gained acceptance among the noble families of Voralian through years of careful manipulation and deception. She was, along with Dhaezym's father, someone other than who she claimed to be. There was said that once a rapacious Bandit Queen ruled the streets of Hamsah Mu'Tazz, but that the dark mistress had disappeared many years earlier, perhaps to stand by her Patron's side. Whatever the case, Dhaezym's mother loved him with all her heart. However loveless or passionate her marriage might have been, she doted on little Dhaezym, buying him whatever he so desired. It was in this time that nothing seemed to satisfy Dhaezym. Toys were never enough. Until one day his mother brought a young duergar child back to the house. Finally blessed with a companion, who was actually more like a slave, Dhaezym named the child Jerome, and was soon thereafter almost rendered inseperable from the duergar.

#11872, "Dhaezym's Role Chapter 4"
|
RoleChapter 4 Recent History Added Fri Aug 11 01:59:40 2006 at level 41:Dhaezym has found life rather difficult the last few decades. After the attack visited upon him by the Father of Anger, his demotion was taken with a grain of salt. Soon thereafter, Dhaezym spoke with his Lord over his concerns with the Blade Sect and the Lord of Anger. Instructed to walk a dangerous line with the Father of Anger and the Blade Sect, Dhaezym was once again elevated through the Imperial ranks. However, after a trio of deaths to the minions of the Fortress, Dhaezym lost his focus for a brief moment and attacked the sorceress Rhaika in Hamsah after he had opened a gate to her. Immediately knowing the error of his ways, Dhaezym punished himself and sought out the inevitable punishment of his Lord. After being once again cast down to the ranks of the Bloodoath, Dhaezym began to formulate plans to build his power. Approaching the two settlements of Dagdan and South Dairein, he made inquiries into their loyalty. Slowly beginning the accoutrements of diplomacy, Dhaezym sought to gain their citizens fealty to the Empire, thereby setting up a a powerful garrison in the Empire. As he plotted to gain his Lord's favor, Dhaezym's wish was granted, and he once again became a Divine.
It was during this time that many of the Imperials Dhaezym had first battled with in Empire were taking their own lives, due to the overwhelming legion of foes seeking their head. Dhaezym himself fell several times to the combined efforts of villagers and Maran, yet his faith remained. His faith in Empire, however, began to wane. Seeing incompetance from its' citizens and a lack of respect a priest and a Divine should receive, Dhaezym let many know of his wish to deny aid to those who had not proved themselves worthy of Khasotholas's blessing. He has witnessed a dreadful lack of leadership among all of Empire, save the War Master Skiltore, whom Dhaezym has a deep amount of respect for, his being a Blade notwithstanding. Too many of Imperials seem to be focused with just simply defeating their foes, and show no desire to truly create an 'Order' that would civilize the World. Dhaezym has yet to truly speak about these concerns with Khasotholas, fearing his Lord's displeasure. The lack of respect shown Dhaezym has currently bothered him the most. From his childhood until just recently, Dhaezym has grown accustomed to giving orders and having them followed. But of late, many of his fellow Imperials have begun ordering him around, as if he were some mercenary that they purchased the services of. And not his betters, those of equal or lesser rank.

#11871, "Dhaezym's Role Chapter 3"
|
RoleChapter 3 Recent History Part 2 Added Fri Aug 11 02:05:50 2006 at level 41:Of most troubling importance, he was cast down once again for his disdain of the High Priest. Upon being asked to aid a former Divine who had let a bloodoath break Imperial Law, Dhaezym acquiesced, believing perhaps a bit of diplomacy might aid in future attempts at the High Priest position or the Throne, and aided the duergar and another bloodoath in slaying the blacksmith of Arkham. After the battle had been completed, Dhaezym, being quite a desirer of baudy and powerful trinkets, asked of the bloodoath thief to hand over his aquamarine bracelet. The thief complied quickly, earning a knowing look from Dhaezym and a nod that signified Dhaezym would think highly of him in the future.
Dhaezym then looked at the former Divine Baradisceth, a priest who when a Divine questioned Dhaezym's methods and sided with the Blades in the following arguement, he noticed the priest held many rare and legendary items. Instead of forcing his desire upon the priest and demanding all the items better than his own, Dhaezym sought to teach the priest of his failure in times past to properly respect Dhaezym and the Empire by asking for Baradisceth to give to him an ice-cold brooch. Even willing to give his own servicable cloak to the bloodoath in a gesture of acknowledgement, Dhaezym was met with obstinance. Told that the High Priest favored the priest, and would not be happy with the demand, Dhaezym again requested the brooch, reminding the Oath of his position. In this moment, the High Priest re-awakened from his slumber, the first time Dhaezym had seen him in a decade. Dhaezym, expecting greetings from the High Priest (for they had been contemporaries and rivals for the High Priest spot before Dhaezym sought to question the Father of Anger) as well as the promotion he had been promosed and so deserved, Dhaezym was instead met with spite. The High Priest made haste to Arkham, where he demanded Dhaezym remove and drop all his belongings to sacrifice to his Lord. All to eager to reply to such a petty move, Dhaezym did just that. He further questioned the might of the High Priest when he goaded the High Priest into a faboulous bout of anger, over his being slain by the Anathema Brulgor. Cast down throughout the ranks oncemore, Dhaezym waits, eager to pay back those who continue to steal what is rightfully his.

|
RoleChapter 2 A bit of info on Family History and Dhaezym plans on it Added Fri Aug 11 02:10:01 2006 at level 41:In one of his many travels to the Inn of the Eternal Star, Dhaezym overheard something that rocked him to his core. At the time, he was a flegdling priest of Khasotholas, and not yet a member of the Empire. As he sipped a fine wine, two fur traders coming from Velkyn Oloth began mentioning a man by the name of Gregor. Dhaezym eavesdropped carefully, he began to hear a fantastic tale of a priest of Qaledus who, after stealing a man's identity, went on to secure the city of Voralian for the thief patron. Hearing many similarities to his own father's stories, Dhaezym began to search out information about his father before he was born. In this time, Dhaezym discovered both of his parents to actually be agents of Qaledus.
After he joined the Empire, Dhaezym sought audience with Qaledus, perhaps to truly be at peace with his parents mysterious past. It was during a meeting he had with the Immortal that he learned of a potential child his father may have had before Dhaezym was born (or perhaps on one of his father's mysterious disappearances), a man named Ivn. Told this Ivn had gone missing several years earlier in pursuit of the ricest dwarven horde in the Realms, Dhaezym has began to make contacts with those skilled in tracking people, as well as those skilled in traversing the depths. Dhaezym seeks out Ivn for two reasons, to cement his claim as the firstborn and heir, and to potentially use Ivn and his find (if there is one) to increase his own power. As well, Dhaezym has attempted to send out feelers to the various guilds in an attempt to gain their favor. For if he were Emperor, they would be invaluable.

|
RoleChapter 1 Dhaezym at Middle Age Added Fri Sep 8 10:40:48 2006 at level 50:Dhaezym is going crazy. Slowly at first, but once he reaches old age he will have totally lost his mind. He is still competant enough to do various Priestly things, and works within the Empire quite well except for brief moments where he feels compelled to do inexplainable things. Of late, Dhaezym has begun to speak to himself, his need to become Emperor after Khasotholas's departure created almost a seperate psyche within himself. He still yearns for His Lord's voice in his ears, however he has begun to slowly make peace with the fact that now, none believe his Lord still exists.
But Dhaezym believes shall he get Emperor, Khasotholas will return. Upon building his 'perfect order' Dhaezym believes that Khasotholas will return from whatever Plane he is on, and spirit Dhaezym away to serve him in His Immortality and search for new Worlds to implement His Hive.
What Dhaezym shall do if he DOES get Emperor, and that does not transpire is the subject of much debate in the dark recesses of his mind.
