|
Thakhad El'Asim the Grand Master of Changelings, Acolyte of the Golden Sun
DescriptionAge has started to take his toll on this middle-aged human. Nevertheless, he still stands steady and caring of his surrounding. You notice that his skin has been tanned by the sun, long exposure to it's rays. His long black hairs have been attached in a poney-tail manner, but they start to show signs of gray shades. He proudly wears clothes which seems to originate from the region of Hamsah Mutazz. Around his neck, you notice a small feather hanging on a tiny silver chain.

RoleChapter 1 A revelation Added Tue Dec 6 20:52:04 2005 at level 33:Years have passed for the Shapeshifter. Years which were filled with several discoveries. The first one was on a trip through the skies. While flying near Voralian City, on a cloudless day, a large Fortress had drawn it's lines near the Redhorn mountains. That could have only been the Fortress of Light, home of Marans, Acolytes, Squires and Scribes. From high above, with the Sun shining, it looked like a Beacon. Thakhad could only wonder what it was like at night.
Curious and wanted to learn more, he met Salvator, an Acolyte of the Golden Sun. The discussion was brief, but enough to root the idea of joining them in his heart. A few more discussion later, the Human decided to pen a missive to the Fortress, as he was told. Only a few days later, the second discovery was made. With his rescent travels, he found the insight to shape into a new form. This shape revealed to be that of the Hawk. While no more defensive than the Heron, it possessed dangerous claws which proved their worth.
Time went by and Thakhad continued to speak with more Acolytes and scribes. Speaking with Hirken, Kelayna, Brywadeon helped him find more about what it was like to be an Acolyte. He was also asked to continu to speak with some Acolytes and Scribes before speaking with Lady Xilla. Corramix was suggested, but he had not been able to get a hold of him long enough to discuss.
He still continued to learn about his craft, making new friends and learning about foes... Until one day, when he asked a friend, Orik, to travel. This dwarf was trying to retrive the Orb held by the dark Scions at the Chasm. Thakhad offered his help and went to assist his friend in this task. The retrieval was quick, thanks to the impressive defenses of the Squire and the Hawk's claws appeared to deal regular pain to the Nightwalker. To thank Thakhad, Orik sent a missive to the Fortress relating the events.
Lady Xilla being hard to catch, the shapeshifter inquired about a possible alternative. He was told to speak with Lord Corrlaan. To reach him from a place he deemed acceptable and worthy. Also curious about the bearers of the Golden Chalice, he would try to find more about "The Younger" has he is also called.

RoleChapter 2 To take wing Added Thu Oct 27 20:34:06 2005 at level 25:Years of labour, dedication and patience has finaly paid of for the young Human. After living at his village all his youth, Kahir decided to start Thakhad's training in the arts of ShapeShifting. Quickly, he had learned to change some minor parts of his anatomy. When his father though he was ready, Thankad was sent to the Academy in Hamsah Mu'tazz to complete his basic training and start his life as a ShapeShifter. Only a few weeks were nescessary for him to graduate, and there he started his travels.
A few more years and many travels later, Thakhad had made many friends and grown more skilled in the art of Shapeshifting. He had already shaped as a peacock for a while now, and suddently, he feeled ready to transform into something new... Thakhad closed his eyes and searched his mind for this new possibility. And there is was, a beautiful blue heron appeared in this mind. A large smile crossed his face as he opened his eyes again. Uttering a word becomming familiar to him, he invoked the magic within himself, thinking about what he had just seen. For a moment, his body took different forms and shifted to his vision of the Heron.
Taking a moment to glare around himself, he noticed the strong wings of the new form. He walked a bit to familiarise himself, flapped the wings just enough to float about the ground. Then, he landed back, peering at the sky. Somehow, the Sun seemed to defy the young shaped human.. " Fly high! "
The blue Heron flapped it's wings, again and again, closing his eyes unsure of the result it would bring. Suddently, Thakhad felt his body getting lighter. He felt a relief as he opened his eyes, flying above the clouds. He could see all of Hamsah Mu'Tazz from above!
Trying his new-found motion, Thakhad left himself get pushed above the Eastern Road. Now was the time to head back to his guild, but the Sun seemed to urge him again.. What did it meant? Thakhad realised nearly too late! Had had not listened to his new body! If he would move further, he would certainly fall to his doom from exaustion! Taking a chance, the young shifter dived at the Road, nearly hitting the ground. He landed, and then reverted to his human form.
Realizing he had nearly died, he stared at the sky thanking the Sun. He rested his mind and body a moment at the edge of the road and went back on foot to Hamsah, and his guild. Pleased with his new-found abilities, he decided to take some rest... Awaiting his next discovery...

RoleChapter 3 A life path Added Sun Aug 28 13:54:28 2005 at level 19:Within some desert tribes near Hamsah Mu'tazz, it is not uncommon to notice strange ways of life. One of these ways is the choice of a Life path, chosen from among a define list. Among these tribes, the choices depends mostly on it's day to day life, the surrounding environment and legends of it's peoples. All of these choices fall within three categories: The Path of the Body, warriors and defenders of the tribe.. the Path of the Mind, mages and oracles.. and the Path of the Spirit, voice of the Gods and healer of wounds.
The El'Asim family was part of one of these tribes. A tribe of peacefull explorers and herd keepers. For generations, the different Life Paths were filled with Rangers, Shapeshifters and Healers. Traditionnaly, every children born outside the village were pushed toward one path or the other depending of where the mother would give birth.
Thakhad's father was a powerfull shapeshifter, acting as a scout from above. He was the first in many generations of El'Asim to choose the Path of the Mind, and to tie himself to the Air. On one such scouting mission, he rescued a woman who was attacked by a pack of beast, grabing her between his shifted claws to return her to his village. On the way back, the woman fell unconcious, appearing pretty badly hurt. Healed by a local healer, the woman was quickly recovering from her wounds but she wasn't from this tribe... Named Asha, she explained she was at first attacked by Scions and barely escaped with her life, but was then overcommed by beasts. Would she still have had mental energy, she claimed she would have been able to escape... To the skies...
For Kahir, Thakhad's father, it was a sign. In the following weeks, the tribe leader met the young woman. He had sent messengers to every nearby villages, but none claimed to have a missing members. Glaring at Asha, Kahir proposed to keep her with them. In the following years, the two developped a profound binding eventually leading to pregnancy. Very strong of mind and body, Asha, would not stay often in the village, prefering to follow her husband in his many explorations and scouting.
Not listening to her body, Asha followed Kahir when the birthdate was close. Kahir had planned to fly over nearby mountains and from there head to the south... They never reached their destination. Nearly falling to her death, Asha landed on a ledge near the peak of a mountain. Reverting to her normal form, work had already begun. In a cool wind, a body was born... Sealing his Life Path to the wind and the skies...
