|
Ranak Reiloas, Reiloas the Weaponsmaster
DescriptionA massive man seemingly floats on the winds as you approach him. Dark green strands of hair whisp in the breeze and you catch a glimpse of his hardened face. As your eyes focus on his rocky features that cover this giants face you notice a horid scar under his left eye. The scar tissue looks to be seared and rotted. As your eyes drift down his massive frame, you notice another mass of seared tissue along his left flank partially covered by straps of leather and plates of armor. Ranak then turns his gaze and your eyes meet his, and he turns along his way.

RoleChapter 1 The Beginning Part 2 Added Thu Feb 19 13:42:19 2004 at level 47:Wounded and exhausted, I crawled from the sewer into the ally within the dark city. I took refuge in a crate and rested. Beckoned by sleep and hunger, I fell into a deep slumber. In my slumber I had visions of what had happened...visions of my tribe, of the hunting, and of the cold, vile voice echoing over and over through my mind. I awoke from my sleep soaked in sweat, my heart was pumping out of control, almost driving me mad. I then realized I had not ran far enough. I gathered what strength I could and left the ally in search of a way out, a path that lead me away. Drawn by the sounds of freedom and the smell of the ocean I found myself on the docks of the Empress's harbor. The guard was heavy, all of them seemed to eye me suspiciously. I felt that I had to get on a ship, and escape into the wide blue sea. As I examined my options, I noticed a sign:
Deckhands Wanted!! Apply at the SeaKeg.
What better way to get away....I followed the sign to an old looking ship covered with vegitation from the sea. "I'm here for a job," I said. "Aye Landlubber," said a ragged looking man. "I'm Cyrus, Capt'n of the SeaKeg an I'll show yer the way," he said with a ragged accent. "What name yer go by?" "I's called Ranak." Then come aboard yar! And so started my exploits with Capt'n Cyrus on the high seas. We had been at sea for barely a week when I knew how to do most of the deckwork. I had learned the SeaKeg an Capt'n Cyrus were key figures in the trade on the seas, spanning from Seantryn Modan to Hamsah Mutazz and Arkham. As we hunted for ivory tusks and whale blubber I began to use my hunting instincts from the mainlands in our search. As night would fall we'd lower the mast and let the winds take us as we told stories and had some scotch that was also transported on the SeaKeg. I grew to love the scotch, for it eased the pain of my scars. The captain had said it was good medicine, though he always warned if I had too much medicine it would work against me. We laughed on into the night as the winds took us north. I woke the next morning to the sounds of some gigantic beast, I ran to the front of the boat with haste as my eyes scoured the surface of the water. I soon found the captain at my side and he said, "Ah, the dragon sea, Yar can hear them Aye?" "We near the port of Arkham, all hands, make ready for port!"

RoleChapter 2 The beginning as told through the eyes of Ranak. Added Sun Feb 8 13:55:48 2004 at level 39:I was born in a vast desert waseland where food was little and water was rare. The sone of a hunter, I soon inhereted my fathers traits and job as I came to age. Adept with most weapons, I could track and find anything I came across. Hunting in these times was as good as my tribe had come to expect when things seems to slowly turn sour. The unique climate of the desert is everchanging, and it seemed to now be changing daily. Our water holes ran dry, and the game we feasted upon seemed to slowly dissappear. It became the decision of the tribe to move until we found a more livable place. We came upon a suitable place at the edge of the jade mountains, warm enough where the waters ran in streams from the mountain tops and the deer we so desperatly needed to survive ran in herds of hundreds and even thousands. All seemed well until.......
I awoke and there was a strange haze about the morning. The sun was barely coming over the mountains and there seemed to be a red mist covering the lands. I should have taken heed to these unusual signs, but food had to be found for the tribe. I gathered the hunting party and we proceeded into one of the valleys near our camp. As we traveled I can remember smelling something burning, but I couldn't get a fix as to what or where it was. We traveler up the valley until it broke into a high plain. Upon the plain we saw a sight that still remains fresh within my mind. An open field of death...charred remains of the deer we needed to feed ourselves. There was have dead animals writhing in pain as they burn to death, and all around the plain the red mist seemed to grow thicker. Before any of us could gather ourselved to assess the situation, an explaination somewhat presented itself. A great wave of flames hit the rear of the party, vaporizing nearly all that were in it's path. Then a seperate wave hit us from the front. I took a jolt from the force and was thrown to the side as the rest of the party felt the pain of fire. The last thing I can recall before I blacked out was a voice almost chanting, "Nazaroth." Then all was dark..... I woke in a dark, dry chamber that was seeminly empty. As I began to move I noticed that my arms and legs were shackled with very strong chain. Almost Imidiatly after I woke, a voice came from nowhere. "You are my slave giant I have been waiting for someone like you," said the voice. Astounded that I could sense no apparent origion for the sound, I squinted and looked harder into the shadows. Again, I heard the voice, though I couldn't decipher what it had said. Almost the second he spoke, I noticed a bright ball of fire appear in front of me. It seemed the powerful magics I had only heard wispers of were true indeed. The ball hit me in the chest and I fell, unable to move as my flesh burned. Then, another mutter from the voice, and all was relieved. As I lay there, barely able to move, I felt my wounds heal and strength return to my limbs. It appeared that I was some sort of training dummy for this unseen wizard. I am unsure how long I was captive, but my best guess is.....years. As time went ont, I found myself able to take the brunt of more and more spells before my puppeteer allowed me to heal. It seems that I was building a slight resistance to the spells. Soon I could think through the pain, remianing calm and keeping a clear head, when I found myse
