#482, "Tweaks to the Rot supplication:"

The new helpfile:

ROT 'WASTING DISEASE'
Syntax: commune 'rot' <victim>

This supplication causes a decaying disease in the victim which slowly rots their flesh from within. If the rot sufficiently weakens the victim's constitution, the disease is instantly fatal.

Unsuccessful rotting attempts will leave the victim with a wasting disease, which renders them more susceptible to further ravages of the body with poison, disease, hunger, and thirst.

These effects are not cumulative, but rather different degrees of the same effect. A victim with one will resist further attempts to apply the other. Neither is effective on the undead, otherplanar creatures, or similar beings.

Basically, you get a handy partial success (of varying duration, based on more saving throws) which encourages you to mix Rot in with your other abilities, but it is utterly useless to make multiple attempts, ala rot/flee/rot/flee/rot, etc.

Also, the Rot supplication has been bumped up to level 42, to reduce the effectiveness of sitting right below hero range as a shaman.

Rot flee was not the most interesting of tactics.
