#33, "Things not to do in Thera when you're (mostly) dead."

A number of abilities have been changed so that ghosts can no longer do them to non-ghosts, including NPCs. As a ghost, you're granted considerable protection, which is intended to buy you plenty of time to get back on your feet. It's not intended to be used 'offensively'- allowing you to use ghosthood as a shield while you make someone's life miserable.

To illustrate it with an example, let's say you're raiding an enemy cabal, and a healer is defending. You're having a good day, and you manage to kill the healer. Now, under the old system, the healer could rest up quickly, and come back to make your raid very difficult by healing and granting Sanctuary to the guardians, and there's no longer anything you can do to stop them. It's worse than an out-of-PK-range enemy, because you can't even get other players to neutralize them.

Under the new system, you can still use helpful abilities on yourself or other ghosts, helping them to get back on their feet after their defeats.

ICly, consider yourself between worlds after a death. (It's why you can pass through most doors, fly, etc.) The difference is that it now carries a drawback of being less 'connected' to mortal beings.

Please direct questions and discussion to Gameplay.

Why not change the ways people too low to have a PK interact with mobs? Nothing pisses me off more than some lowbie who makes a pain in the ass of himself by running around casting spells on mobs other people are fighting. He's not in anyones PK so you can't kill or have him killed, and he's completely safe from you and everyone else.

What would you suggest we do? Personally, the powers available to a <11th level character just aren't a huge concern to me. Certainly not enough that I want to completely remove their ability to cast on NPCs. Their Armor and Cure Serious type mojo isn't stopping my group from ranking anyway.

I'm fine with ghosts losing that capability, since it's temporary, and much more abusable.

I'm not going to unqueue your post which repeats the same arguments with the same vague generalities. If you are concerned about this factor of the game, you are welcome to email us specific potential lowbie abuses you believe should be fixed.

Nope. There's a zillion ways to abuse that.

Since now you cant do anything while a ghost.

Not even remotely true.
