The building project involved the construction of a well/portal.

I like history that is messy (told from a participant's perspective, rather than that of an immortal narrator), which is why I am putting out the request. Even if your character is long dead, we can pretend that your testimony was either discovered in a journal or retrieved through an interview while you were still alive.

i'd gladly write something up but that was a very minor bit-role.

Bit parts are fine; there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen.
