Do these effect the strength of a shapeshifters forms, in the same way as spells in general?

I've not had a chance to test shifting yet but with conjurers you'd notice the occasional big swing in servitor summoning when the veil shifted.

I also just remembered: Nanorab's quest spells were unaffected by Veil strength (likely because he was not a mage). Does this mean all non-mages spells are currently unaffected or just unusual spells like those ones? (cheers btw!) I meant to bugboard it. I noticed that during the worst times, I was still burning hot while Tumarellen's nova was actually weaker than my 1-round spell!! Poor guy

Nope. The Veil in general does; these edges/flaws don't. This is one reason why shifters can't pick the flaws in question.

I've drawn up ideas for what I think are good shifter equivalents; you might see them with shifter edges, or you might see them earlier. I'm inclined to mostly leave shifters until Zulg's done with his current set of tinkering, but the Veil stuff feels safer to toss in early than a lot of the edge ideas I'd had for the class.

Yep. Some of that's the Veil effect on casting levels, and some of that's an additional mod on servitor potence and hit points. I might do a conjurer equivalent that covers all of this at some point and then either let them pick those edges instead, or just make them exclusive and another option with an appropriately different cost.

All spells would be affected; however, spells do damage by level differently. Nova's pretty linear in the damage it does per level it's cast at, (and actually I found/fixed a pretty major design flaw in it while doing invoker edges that could equally help it out a lot or hurt it lot depending on the circumstances, so who knows if that was a factor) whereas something like that quest spell might get most of its damage oomph in, let's say, the first 25 levels and taper off a bit after that, and so seem a lot less affected by Veil fluctuations.
