#2826, "A trap is sprung! (No, not really)"

I, a trap thief, will see "A trap is sprung!" whenever someone walks through a trap, even if the trap doesn't do anything, although the trap remains.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what exactly a trap is, but it seems like when it fails to work it should either be:
A) Someone walks past and nothing happens; or
B) Someone walks into the trap triggering it but the trap fails, displaying "A trap is sprung!" and nothing more, and now the trap is gone.

B) would really suck.

Thanks

A) is how it works for me. Got any logs? Preferably with the type of traps you're making as well.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

A small temple
A soft glow radiates from the walls within this small temple
whether
it is day or night. Blessed by the healers who pray here, the
atmosphere
is for the most part silent, save a few musicians who lighten
the air
with their gentle music. Tall statues have been erected to the
east
and west of the main altar, given light by the numerous
candles that
burn throughout the temple, while the altar itself takes up
almost the
entirety of the northern wall. Dominating the center of the
temple, a
large pit has been dug, the concave stonework serving as a
donation
spot for the citizens of this settlement. Decorating the walls
in
various places, large stained glass windows add to the beauty
of the
temple with their complexity. To the south you may return to
the road
through the settlement.

[Exits: south]
A large pit for collecting donations is here before the
altar.
(Translucent) A great horned owl flies here, looking for prey.

Gently strumming a beautifully inlaid harp, a young elven
woman is here.
(White Aura) Standing calmly next to the temple's altar, a
healer is here.

You notice your knock-out trap is still set up on the south
exit.
Bystander has arrived.

<xxxhp xxxm xxxmv> A trap is sprung!
A great horned owl leaves south.

It is a knock-out directional trap, as you can see in the log.
It says "A trap is sprung!" but nothing happens.
It's probably just a semantics issue.

Looks like the owl made the save vs the sleep. I've added an
echo to the room when someone avoids inhaling the powder. If
you notice any others, let me know.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
