This actually could come up in a few situations, so I'm glad you brought this up.
The solution may sound strange, but it'll do what it needs to:
All becomings will now result in the person awakening doing so naked. You'll still have your EQ in your inventory, just need to re-wear it after.
Nakey-undead, assault!
