There are two different bugs with Rising Phoenix kick I think. One example is in Snippet 1 and another in both snippets.
The first allows the kicker to attack someone not in battle to bring them into battle if the groupmate fights the kicker. For example, I rescue and I'm out of battle because of autoassist being off. However, by the kicker using a Rising Phoenix I'm brought back into battle even though I'm not attacking the kicker, it's my charmies. This also allows the kicker to bring a foe out of chameleon and treeform by attacking the charmie and kicking.
The second allows to hit the druid despite an active armor of thorns. I don't know why, but the rising phoenix ignores the armor of thorns even though it seems to block other kicks. That does not make much sense and seems to be an overlooked aspect of the skill.
The bonus bug is the infamous double-attack assist round, which is very annoying when dealing against six charmies, some of them very strong.
