#20856, "Keep of Righteous"

Order of operations issue... Voice calls out before the portcullis closes. Not a major thing, just seemed odd.

Outside the Battlement Wall
This area seems to have been cleared out. The edge of the forest is
roughly a hundred yards to the northeast, giving the guards plenty of time
to spot a would-be assailant. The emerald green grass is kept low and a
few flowers grow here and there. The battlement wall lies to the
southwest. It scales fifty feet high and the walls have been smoothed
down, making it more difficult to scale. The clearing continues to the
west and the front of the gate lies to the south.

Patrolling the area, a well-armed guard looks for intruders.

The area outside the gate seems to been cleared for a good hundred yards
between it and the forest. The walls around the gate rise to fifty feet
and end in a small tower. A portcullis lies at the gate, open to allow
entrance into the keep. The keep beckons from the west. The wall of the
keep can be followed to the north or south, and the forest lies back to
the east.

Patrolling the area, a well-armed guard looks for intruders.
A crossbow bolt slams into the ground only a few inches from you.
A voice calls out 'Who goes there? What business have you?'

The portcullis lowers, barring passage through the gate.

They challenge you, then they shut the gate until you handle the situation. You could do it another way, but it's just as sensible this way.
