Along the Southern Slopes of a Mountain
You are amongst a large forest of northern pine trees on the southern slopes
of a large mountain. The slope of the mountain is not overly severe, but enough
to make travel time consuming. Underfoot, a verdant bed of green grass
stretches out, while all around, tall pines tower skyward, enveloping the
forest in a canopy of branches and needles. The forest is strangely quiet,
the silence being broken only by the chitter and buzzing of insects, and the
occasional call of a songbird. Otherwise, the forest seems almost completely
silent of life. The mountain continues to slope upwards towards the summit,
and continues around to the east and west, while the way becomes too
treacherous to safely descend to the south.

downward to the south.
