Even at 100% in this skill, whether the dart lands for full effect, or partial effect, the victim is always aware of it. They yell "Ouch!" and get some kind of echo that the dart hit them.
The helpfile would seem to indicate that the whole idea of this skill is to tip the odds a bit more towards the assassin, who intends to fight them rather than go for the one-shot kill. The victim being tipped off to what has happened makes this almost useless.
I was under the impression that once you get good at it, you have a much better chance to land the dart without them noticing.
The helpfile even alludes to the "stealthiness" of the attack...
POISONDARTS 'POISON DARTS' syntax: poisondarts <poison type> <victim>
Barely bigger than a large splinter, the assassin's poison darts are released with a small flick of the wrist. With such a small amount of poison, the affects are not meant to incapacitate, but rather to provide an edge for eventual combat. Three types of poison available to assassins are "sleep", "confusion", and "acidic". The assassin must be hidden from the sight of the victim in order to get close enough to use the darts.
Referring to the last, underlined section of the helpfile, what is the point of that limitation if it's a completely un-stealthy ability?
I'm trying to get mileage out of this much-maligned ability.
