The Shadow Grove
The forest is eerily quiet here. Nowhere are the sounds of a normal
forest present - no birds singing, no animals scurrying through the
underbrush, nor any insects buzzing about can be heard at all. The
only thing that seems to break the silence is the faint, periodic
rustle of the wind through the trees. The air seems to carry a biting
chill to it, as if you were in a far northern climate, or high up on
a mountain. The light filtering through the trees seems somehow muted
as well, leaving it almost perpetual night on the forest floor. Around
you, all the trees seem to look the same, taking on haunting features,
and seeming to waver and shift in the dim light.
