With burrowing owl, I burrow into the ground and nest. When I'm done healing, I wake up, enliven all my spells, and then type FLY while I'm still in the burrow. Notice that I can fly directly from my burrow. Then the really weird part is when I try to move AFTER I'm already in the sky, NOW I get the message about crawling out of my burrow. here's the log:
