As a half-drow hunter with caverndweller with rebounding strike. So far I have not seen it fire off while fighting in caves. Been using the cave rooms in the battlefield from the past.

Some cave sector rooms aren't flagged indoors; consider them a cross between a cave and mountainous terrain. In the Battlefield, these are deep ravines or gorges.

At least I assume that was the original author's intent.
