In the kobold caves, this door on the north opens with a small iron key...but only from here. On the other side, the key doesn't work. I had the area respawn while I was in there and got locked in with no way out. I'm assuming it's not intentional for the key to only work one-way so newbies can get locked inside.
A Large Cave
Torches light a pair of wooden palisades barring access to the north and
south exits. The palisades stretch almost to the ceiling high above, and
their surfaces are broken by the presence of two stout wooden gates, one in
the north and one in the south, with both being bound in bronze. Small
figures can be seen along the top of the palisades, walking the battlements.
The smell of freshly cut wood and oily smoke is in the air. Flying on a
wooden pole above the southern battlement is a small, pennant emblazoned
with a hydra.
