The log below is one of the examples, more importantly the fights that I flee from are what I'm concerned about. But, to the point.
I'm fighting someone. I brutal rush, I (they) flee, and if they have not "fought off" the brutal rush, they are still rushed when I initiate combat again. I do not believe time matters as I have reproduced this after a tick had gone by. I do not know if it applies if they initiate combat after one of us had fled, but.. it does when I re-initiate combat.

Few travelers venture this far out into the open plains, but the road is well defined still. Except for the road upon which you travel, there is no way to determine one direction from another. The plains are a monotonous place; you could walk for weeks without finding another living soul. Trees and low-lying bushes lie scattered along the road. The few clouds in the sky drift by off to the northwest. You see an old trail heading off to the north across the open plains. To the south the vegetation increases as you walk by the edge of a forest. The West Sumner's Road continues over the horizon to the east and west.
A sign points north to the Halfling Lands and south to Azreth Woods. A male tresnore studies you closely, eyeing your belongings. Rangerfriend has arrived.
