You hear the faint grumbling of discourse over the steady beat of a tavernsong.

"Well, we can at least agree on one thing." a brash voice says. "These old songs are uninspired and trite!"

A melodic, elven voice responds, "Indeed - yet your own suggestions are brash and crude! Not *every* song need be about battles and bloodshed!"

"And you would prefer what?" jests a third, jolly voice. "Love songs all the time? Bor-ring! A bard who can't get a good belly-laugh ain't worth his own wine!"

A gloomy fourth voice sighs. "What's there to laugh about? The only true inspiration comes from anguish and pain."

The other three voices groan in unison.

"Enough!" says the first voice. "We'll each gather new compositions and send them to our guildmasters throughout the land. Let each bard decide for himself!"

The chatter again blends into the strange tavernsong before slowly fading away.
