What happens is joe practicer comes along and wipes the floor with non-practicer.

Not in my experience. My observation has been that the top-tier players don't really give a crap about practicing (especially with the new systems), and win their fights anyway. Check the recent Battlefield posts by people who did a lot of killins if you don't buy my line on that.

Again, player skill is a much larger factor than skill percentages, and player skill doesn't go away when you delete a character.
