If you are in the ranking area of someone in your PK range, the people there don't want you to stay there to stab their backs while they are fighting mobs. They will kill you, just in case, if you are an enemy or a potential enemy. If they kill you and you return to loiter in their ranking area... That is a good way of getting multi-killed by the same gank.
