A Trail Through a Wooded Area Behind the High Lord's Keep 
  The trees and shrubs grow quite close to the wall. Standard practice
for those who inhabit fortified territory is to keep the land near the
walls cleared, so as to provide no cover to any besiegers. It is plain
to see that this policy was once enforced here too -- the woods are
noticeably thicker about 300 yards away from the wall -- but grasses,
shrubs, and even small trees have begun to push up in the intervening
area, encroaching on what was once barren land. Judging by the growth,
it has probably been ten to fifteen years since anyone properly cleared
this patch of ground. Perhaps the High Lord doesn't fear attack from this
direction, or perhaps his men have just gotten lazy.
